Andre Carter? (1 Viewer)

His stats over the last 4 years are:

T A SK

2008 24 13 4

2007 43 12 10.5

2006 47 9 6

2005 35 9 4.5

So you gotta ask:

1. What happened in 2008?

2. He's only 30 (in a few days from this posting) so does he still have gas in the tank or is he done?

3. DOes the Haynesworth signing affect him (duh!) and how?

Whatcha thinkin fellas?

I own Carter so I watched him a fair bit this year. I think Haynesworth will help A LOT. Carter still has the tools imo but he faced constant double-teams all year. I also think it will bear watching who is going to start at DE opposite Carter. I think he can return to producing the same stats if they shore up the rest of the line. It takes a superstar DE to produce big stats while facing constant double teams. I think it will be much harder to send double teams his way with Haynesworth threatening the middle.

Adding Haynesworth certainly doesn't hurt, but Carter will still have to fight the read-and-react nature of Greg Blache's defensive philosophy on base downs. Expect some rebound in stats this year, but it's doubtful that he'll return to his late 2006 through 2007 numbers.
