Too bad it sounds like diarrhea. How common is the girl name "Dahlia"?
update?I'll get a copy and put the little black "disguise" bar over the eyes. I'm not getting sued for proving something that folks on a messageboard doubted. But...you'll see that this is indeed true.

That remains to be seen. It's not unusual to be afraid of a bear. Luckily for him it wasn't "Afraid of Beaver".Poor kid is going to be picked on all the time at school...by bears. My FIL has a kid in his school district whose last name is "Afraid of Bear" :(

Not a big deal here. It's like Ivan Ivanovich.I once issued a bank statement for a "Donald and Donna Donaldson".Who in their right mind with a last name of "Donaldson" would name their kid "Donald"? Marrying into it, sure. You're in love. Whatever. Julia Goolia. But naming your kid that? Sheesh.ETA: I just remembered that I went to high school with a "Dug". Seriously. Not "Doug". "Dug".

I still remember my first year teaching. I had a student with the official name of: Lil' Anfernee. First name, Lil' (with apostrophe) Middle name Anfernee. He was born premature so he was named Lil.
That would drive my coworker nuts. He would demand that she pronounce it Lehyphena.People scoffed when I reported that my wife's best friend had a girl at her school named Le-a (pronounced, "Ledasha")...but it is indeed 100% verified true.

Do not trifle with her, unless your magicks be strong.I have a Margarito (boy), Yrania, Horacio, Edel, Itzel (girl), Abigailh (the "h" is silent), and a Merlin (girl).

Since this got bumped, I had to add that when having a "future baby name" discussion with the girlfriend, we settled on the classic "you name a boy, I name a girl" approach. I promptly said after agreeing that the forerunner for my name choice was "Fredginald." She went stark white and said, "Are you SERIOUS?" I've been playing it DEAD serious ever since. She is not amused, but I have to bite my lip every time to keep fromStill not as good as Fredginald.
I call it the mullet of names, although it's kind of more business in the back (-ginald) and party in the front (Fred), but still...
