concussions in rapid succession sounds terrible, and could spell the end of a career.Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas will miss practice this afternoon and is questionable to play in London against the Giants because of complications after last Sunday's minor car accident, according to sources.
Thomas was scheduled to visit with a doctor in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, to undergo testing for another possible concussion. The Dolphins were waiting on results before determining his playing status.
The team, which is 0-7, leaves for London on Thursday. Sunday, it lost starting running back Ronnie Brown and starting safety Renaldo Hill for the season, and is already playing without 2007 opening game starters Trent Green and Chris Chambers. Green is on injured reserve. Chambers was traded to San Diego.
Thomas, 34, and his wife Maritza were rear-ended heading northbound on Florida's Turnpike after Sunday's 49-28 loss to New England. Dolphins coach Cam Cameron spotted the accident as he drove home. Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Roger Reyes said there were no injuries, but that the driver of a Dodge pickup was cited for failure to use due care after his vehicle hit Thomas' 2007 Mercedes, which Maritza was driving. The Mercedes was towed.
Thomas missed two games earlier this season after suffering a concussion against Dallas in the second week.
