Antonio Bryant (1 Viewer)

I really like Antonio Bryant this year, and thing he could have a huge season this year. He's teh clear cut #1 WR for the 49ers, and seems to have chemistry with Alex Smith. He's a really good value IMO, especially at his ADP.

The only problem is that his value depends on sophmore QB Alex Smith, who struggled last season. The 49ers will be down by alot in games this season, so they will likely throw alot, which could boost Bryant's numbers.

What are your thoughts on Bryant this season? What kind of numbers do you project?

Is 1200 yards, and 6-8 TDs realistic?

Projections can be found several places, such as the player projection thread, player faceoff, and player spotlight. Also available are the projections and rankings on the first page.

Thanks, but I'm looking more for your guys opinions on here.

I guess Bryant could reach those numbers, but 1000 and 5 TDs seems more realistic to me. The overall SF offense, and Smith, will help hold the numbers down

We are 4 days away from the regular season. If you want projections on a player, there are more than likely about 10 threads on them. For instance the player spotlight is here:

Antonio Bryant Player Spotlight

After doing a consensus the message board projected him close to 950 yards and 6 touchdowns.

I think that is a little high for him but if you have him getting that much you must have serious faith in Alex Smith, might as well add him to your team. I actually have him on two of my squads. I would be happy with 1050 yds and 6-8 TDs. Anything can happen though so you never know

Bryant has the talent to get those kind of numbers, but he's never lived up to his potential. Alex Smith was just plain awful last year, and IMO, to expect a huge jump in production from him is not a smart play at all. They also need their o-line to play a lot better than last year. I expect the addition of Larry Allen to help, but will it be enough?

I'd expect more conservative numbers from Bryant.

60 rec. 800 yds 4 tds

Awesome, thanks buddy! Those are somewhat old projections and opinions, so I'd still like to hear opinions/thoughts on Bryant, if you have any. Tnanks!

The Browns offense was very conservative last year, and the QBs were Dilfer and Frye. Under those circumstances, he put up 60 catches and just over 1,000 yards.

It's clear at this point that Alex Smith likes to throw to him, and by all accounts he's become much more of a leader on the field. Maturity is a big thing with him, because he's always had the talent.

The 49ers don't figure to be leading many games, so there should be plenty of passes being thrown by Smith this year.. Bryant figures to get the most targets of all of the receivers.

Everything is set up for him to have a big year, and I'd look at last year's numbers as a floor. With a little improvement from Alex Smith, he could very easily be an 1,100-1,200 yard, 7 TD WR this season.
