Antonio Cromartie Threatens To Smash In Matt Hasselbeck's Face (1 Viewer)

Epic Problem

Footballguy
God bless the combination of twitter and ignorant. It provides such entertainment for the masses.

per rotoworld -

Antonio Cromartie threatened to "smash in" Matt Hasselbeck's face after the Seahawks QB tweeted a shot at Cromartie and later deleted it.

"Hey Matt if u have something to say then be a man about it," tweeted Cromartie. "Don't erase it. I will smash ur face in." After Cromartie earlier in the week called the union's leadership "a-holes," Hasselbeck responded by asking if Cromartie even knows what "CBA" means. The union's solidarity appears to have sprung a leak this week.
:goodposting:

I think I saw an interview where Cromartie was complaining about the stand off and saying he didn't care about the money, that they needed to get it worked out for the other people who would be without work during the lockout... Vendors and such...

Cromartie's got to be smarter about this stuff (being a free agent). Have one of your kids do the head smashing for you. Reward them by paying some child support.

Apparently Hasslebeck tweeted "Somebody ask Cromartie if he knows what CBA stands for,” then deleted it.

He sure as hell knows what CSE stands for (Child Support Enforcement).

Would have been much more interesting if he had Tweeted "Somebody ask Cromartie if he knows how to spell CBA"

Cromartie:

"I mean, that's how I feel," Cromartie said. "Honestly, I don't give a damn if they get mad at me or not, but it's getting to a point where it's getting ridiculous when everything is always dealing with money. You're basically dealing with people's livelihoods. That this is what we do for our careers, and you're dealing with hundreds of thousands of other people that's in this workplace also, from the venues to everyone else.

"... I mean, you've got our head union reps acting like a [expletive]," Cromartie said. "And they've got their guys acting like them [expletive], so they just need to get their [expletive] together and get it done."

All that he said is completely honest and I agree with it. Matt Hasselback shouldn't have deleted the tweet if he's gonna post it to begin with. He certainly wouldn't say it to his face. That's spineless.

As for Cromarties' CBA comment he is totally right. I dont want to hear about rich people cutting money they don't need if a deal isn't made. #### and negotiate. Both sides are trying to stick it to the other instead of getting stuff done. Cromartie is upset because he has to wait until some rich dudes divvy up money until he can sign a contract and get really for the next season. There are plenty of players who need their paychecks to support themselves. Incoming rookies especially. They get in trouble for making money in college and many of them have to support their parents and siblings, let alone their own families. And until each side gets it's head outta it's ###, they are hurting everybody.

And just because Cromartie uses big boy language doesn't mean what he's saying isn't real. The fact that he is being genuine is refreshing. Better than false lipservice.

If your being genuine leads people to believe that your IQ is lower than your jersey number, you might want to just keep your mouth shut.Or he can invest some of those millions into classes that will help him articulate himself in a better manner.

When you get by his lack of verbal skills, he is dead right. In fact, I am not an expert on all things "CBA", I don't remember hearing/seeing quotes from anyone on either side care about those effected who do not own a team or play the game. In the end he may be worrying about whether he can feed each of his five, three-year olds, but I like his points. As far as "Cro" as a person, I think he has sealed his fate in NY, and also answered the questions as to whether the Jets sign Holmes or Edwards...my guess is they sign both WRs, and Harris and hope to sign some of the other minor FAs.

Just cause it is his feelings doesn't mean he doesn't sound like an idiot.

Right or not, it was the wrong move. The NFLPA is supposed to be one voice, and when people chirp up about trying to get the CBA done, all it does is take away from the solidarity they have and give more power to the owners.

Why do you say that? No question he's a buffoon but i don't remember him taking any shots at the organization. He's the perfect #2 CB for Ryan's pressure schemes and the Jets don't to seem to care if they have "colorful" characters as long as they are winning.

If Hasselback wants to protect himself, he just needs to carry a football around. Cromartie won't lay a finger on him.

I don't understand how any of this makes him less intelligent. Is it because liars are supposedly smarter? I don't get it. If he said something outrageous, maybe he is dumb. But all the stuff he said is valid. If telling some spineless old man you are going to beat them up because they are talking trash is dumb, then you need to grow some balls.

The real idiots are the Player's Association. If they want the players to stand beside eachother, maybe they shouldn't be gambling with their players lives to stick it to the owners. If there is a lockout, the players are going to be crucified. What ever happened to having a deal in place to replace the expiring one. They should have gone on strike this year if they were serious about representing their players. Where's the solidarity of Kevin Mawae (NFLPA) throwing his old QB under the bus? Ridiculous.

Oh I get it now. If a player doesn't study English along with playing sports their whole lives, they are not intelligent. If you want to be shallow, then talk all you want about how he conveys his message. I'd take the message for what it is. You don't need to speak English to make a tackle. You don't need English to read a QB.

Neither Hasselback nor Cromartie should be tweeting or saying anything right now - they're both stupid for doing so, but at least H. realized that and deleted his ill-advised message while Cro keeps pouring on the stupid. The NFLPA is reportedly still very strong, but this crap must drive their reps crazy.

When you're a player in the NFL and the most powerful agent in the NFL has ALL of his clients tweeting responses that are meant to essentially shout you down, it's probably a good idea to shut your mouth. Especially when you're a free agent.

ACro is probably one of the least financially stable veterans in the league. The Jets had to give him an advance IIRC. He's feeling the pressure at just the prospect of the checks not coming. The owners are loving this.
Why are the owners loving this? I doubt any players have direct power over what's going to be agreed to. Is Cromartie going to get all the players together to vote out their labor rep? I don't think so.

The owners love it because it gives them more leverage in a lockout with replacement players. The people who need a paycheck would cross the line and play with replacements.

Cromartie is the first domino to fall and the owners haven't even stopped cutting checks yet. There will be many more to follow. Dissension in the ranks for either side is never viewed as a good thing.

His diction on twitter is on par with Sarah Palin's.

 Cross the line? I don't think you quite understand what's happening here.

Yes cross the line between the owners and players disagreement, leave the NFLPA to play football if they use replacement players. A lockout only locks out the other party of the disagreement.

The owners don't need any more power then they already have. The reality of this situation is that the players have almost zero leverage with or without these silly comments by Cromartie. With all the kids this dude has he can't afford to not have a contract.

No I'm not. The owners can still run their business and just find players to play. A player does not have to stay in the players union. A lockout is an owner sticking it to players, a strike is players sticking it to owners. Either way the game can continue. Crossing the line applies to both, although a lockout really doesn't have a line to cross. But what happens is the same. A player undermining other players position.

Not allowed under current labor laws. There won't be any replacement players. There won't be any line to cross.

"Be a man about it." on Twitter! That's manly. Sorry Cro, dude with so many kids from so many different women doesn't get to talk about 'being a man' about anything. Clearly manly responsibility isn't your thing.

Matt was wrong to, mildly, to chafe Cro about his feelings on Twitter and whether he deleted it because it further disrupted the unity appearance of the NFLPA (likely) or because he was scare of Cromartie (highly unlikely) it was for the better. Cro comes off looking like a giant d00sh for making a pretty positive statement about other people's livelihoods, however false it may be considering his considerable obligations to children all over the country, and then responding to mild criticism with threats of physical violence. Seriously, 'be a man'. On Twitter.
