Each day I am getting more and more worried about the gimpy DD. Many people are targeting Morency with DD's health in question but I am starting to think Smith is the guy to target. Smith does not seem to be the "sexy choice" as Morency is a young 2nd year RB. I worry about Morency and the talk of changing his running style. Meanwhile, you have the tough rugged old Smith who filled in well in NO last season on a poor team. I am starting to believe that if DD can not go that Smith actually has a chance to have a very, very good season in Houston.

Convince me that those chasing Morency are chasing the correct RB, or is Smith the guy to be looking at?

The football gods are beginning to exact their revenge for Houston passing on Reggie Bush.

I have to say, none of the options are really all that exciting. Houston didn't have a great line to begin with, and neither Smith nor Morency seem like full-time starters. This is a team that could bring in another RB before it's all over, which is what's keeping me from A.Smith.

Smith has always been a mediocre back. Houston has a mediocre offense. Sure he'll have some value if he ends up starting, but probably not all that much.

I wouldn't have a problem taking a very late flyer on him, but he's a player with a low ceiling.

While Smith could very well end up starting, he still will never have a "very, very good season". He's never had one of those in his career. And he's been playing for a decade. You realize he's like 34yrs old, right? You could stash him on your bench and maybe try and trade him for a scrub WR...but nobody is going to be real eager to trade for him. And you won't want him starting for you.

what about Wali Lundy? in the daily emails, Joe's brought him up a couple of times. Sounds like Morency's health isn't exactly great and A. Smith is about 58 yrs. old.
