Any chance cj2k breaks out the second half (1 Viewer)

Anyone think there is a decent chance that he breaks out the second half of the year. Enough to try and pick him up for pennies on the dollar and stash him

I'd buy him for the right price and roll the dice... If you have enough bench space he's as good a stash as you can get. If he can manage to get himself together, you're sitting pretty for the stretch run. Whoever drafted this guy is probably not doing so well in your league right now, because getting this little production out of your first rounder can kill a season. Make a couple flier offers. Try giving CJ-Owner Helu or Denarius Moore, or some other WR/RB3...

Been asking this question for the past 5 weeks and it hasn't happened yet

He's still on my roster because I'm not trading him for useless trash that would be the typical offer right now.

If you want to buy really cheap, buy now. Everyone runs wild on the Panthers...so his price will go up after Sunday.

I think he has a monster week this week. 14 carries, 128 yards, 2 td's.
As a CJmaybe1K owner, I will personally drive to your house and bake you some Snickerdoodles if this happens.
Get prepared to do that. It's the Panthers...EVERYONE runs all over them.
The leading rusher for Arizona, Green Bay, New Orleans and Washington were all held under 100 yards against The Panthers this year.

This might be as misleading a statistical analysis as I've ever seen. Three of the four teams you mentioned go RB-by-committee and two are extremely pass heavy attacks. So the chances of any of the above besides Arizona having a 100-yard rusher are slim to begin with.Surely you can do better... :bag:

The catch is that if CJ is going to get 128 yds on 14 carries one of them will need to be for 120 yards. Now a 128yds on 98 carries, that I could see.He is crushing my season. :( ....

You should look at the carries break down in those games then. 2 had a 18-3 and 17-3 difference between the leading and 2nd most carries on the team. In the two where it was more of a RBBC the entire team combined for 101 yards and 124 yards, hardly stellar performances. To say that "Everyone runs all over Carolina" is an incorrect statement since 50% of the teams that have played don't run all over Carolina. Perhaps a better statement would be "Carolina has a tough time with elite backs" Since the backs that have posted good games are Peterson, Forte, MJD and Turner.

First off, I didn't use any of the above statements...What I do know is that the Panthers rank 27th in the NFL vs the run. And they are dead last in fantasy points allowed to opposing RB's.You can try sugarcoating it all you want. They are terrible against the run. Period.

And I'm saying you need to look at the complete picture. They are dead last in fantasy points allowed due to a few outstanding performances by a few outstanding RBs.

Taking the complete picture into account... they are worst in the league. That pretty much sums it up.

They aren't, but whatever you clearly aren't interested in facts or discussing the larger picture. Or my original response to a poster who stated "Everyone runs all over The Panthers." Which is clearly not the case.

You yourself acknowledged they are dead last in the league in fantasy points allowed to RB's. How ever they have gotten there, and how ever you want to analyze it, you can't get any worse that last. There is your fact.

I'll admit to not looking heavily at the stats, but I have watched every snap of every Panthers game...and they are god awful against the run. I fully expect Johnson to run all over them, as long as Carolina doesn't build up a lead quickly and force them to abandon the run.

fwiw CJ isn't going to "break out" ever again. He was below average last year and has been god awful this year. I really just don't get the love with this guy.

As I said, everyone runs wild on the Panthers. I may not know a lot, but I do know the Panthers.

27/130/1 rushing

4/44/0 receiving

Even though most of Carolina's LBs were injured, CJ2ypc actually scored a TD from 1 yard away. 5 more games like this I will never say thing ever again.

hate to get my hopes up but he did look decent against a tough cincy run d last week and this week he looked like CJ2K...granted vs the panthers...but im getting slightly hopeful.

Since you like facts:Panthers allowed 172 yards rushing todayChris Johnson ran for 130 yards after coming into the game averaging a whopping 3.0 ypc Not exactly an 'elite' back coming into today and still they were gashed. Factually safe to say they will remain last in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to RB's after this week. You can continue to overanalyze and attempt to skew the numbers any way you wish, but the facts are the facts. You play your RB's against the Panthers.
