Any chance Rams trade for Lee Evans (1 Viewer)

Any chance Rams trade for Lee Evans? If they still took Julio Jones in the first round and traded a mid round pick for Lee Evans they could improve their WR dramatically for next year. Thoughts?

I think the WR core will upgrade a lot from getting Mark Clayton and Donnie Avery back. Besides, as much as I like Evans, isn't he really just an older(though more durable) Avery.

Yeah basically. I'm thinking they could use Lee Evans for a year or two since you can't count on Avery with his injury issues. Bring in a veteran presence to the WR corps that's young. I don't think Clayton is coming back as I think he's a free agent. This would give Danario Alexander a year to mature and then he and Julio could be there core after a couple years with Amendola in the slot. And all you do is give up a 4th or 5th round pick and you take care of the biggest weakness of the offense for years to come.

Any chance the Redskins trade for Frank Gore? They really need a running back.
It is a pretty "random" thought that the Rams would trade for that particular player with little speculation (at this point) that they will. With that said, I don't think they will trade for anyone and here's why: Why pay for what you can have for free? Take the Jets as an example. One of Cotch, Holmes or Edwards (although really leaning towards Cotch) will not be there next year. Cotch or Edwards are just as good as Evans and you do not need to pay for him. That is just one example, but here are some more UFA WRs (of course they could be re-signed or tagged before FA starts):BreastonFloydVincent JacksonSidney RiceJacoby JonesJames JonesMike Sims-WalkerSteve Smith (NYG)There are others, but that is a nice list in itself. You could go big $$ (Jackson or Rice) or you could get a sneaky pick like Jacoby Jones or Breaston or even Sims-Walker...all of whom I would rather have than Evans.

I agree with Sweet Love.

Also, there is talk of Lee Evans being released by Buffalo.... so you might be adding Evans to that list of FAs.

Lee Evans isn't going anywhere.

Though Evans' 2011 salary will be in the $8 Million range, it only counts for roughly 4 Million against the cap for because his contract was front-loaded. His cap number is very reasonable, and the Bills already paid for Evans' ridiculously expensive years, they're not gonna cut bait on a productive player before the cheap years.
