I just had a crown installed on tooth #30 yesterday. There was decay and an old filling was removed to prepare the tooth for the crown. In the past, from time to time, this tooth could hurt a little and was a little sensitive, but for the most part, didn't give me any problems.
After the novacaine wore off, I notice that there is some pain associated with the tooth (2 out of 10 for pain). It is now 24 hrs and I am wondering if the slight ache will subside or will they eventually have to do a root canal?
Also if they have to do this, can they just drill right through the crown?
Thanks!
BTW, the dentist that I go to makes the permanent crowns on premises so that you do not need to return and never have a temporary crown.
