Any four theatrical releases per week for $25/mo (AMC only) (1 Viewer)

Any of you guys members of AMC Stubs A-List? Its $25/mo here in NYC/BOS area, but I think most places its only $20.
It allows 4 movies a week. Any AMC theater/screening/time/format.
I've been a member a few months and I love it. I average 2.5 movies a week. so it comes out to about $2.50 a movie. Imo, it blows away a Netflix membership.
It makes it much more likely that I'll take a stab on more obscure r weird films, but also allows me to catch all the blockbusters on IMAX.
my recent screenings included:

Ballerina
The Phoenician Scheme
Friendship
Detective Kien: The Headless Horror
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
Fight or Flight
Watch the Skies
Thunderbolts*
The Amateur
The Shrouds
The Ugly Stepsister
Warfare

The week runs Fri-Thur. I haven't seen anything yet this week, so I'll do a double or triple feature with a lot of great options. I''m trying to choose from:
Materialists
Life of Chuck
Prime Minister
Dogma 25th Anniv,
Pavements

NOTE- I am in no way attempting to pimp AMC, but I know there are a lot of filmheads around here and wanted to share this great value they are offering.

It is a good deal if there's a couple movies a month you'd like to see.

Marcus Theaters has their own deal - $10/month gets you one ticket, 20% off concessions, no online booking fees, and $10/ticket for anyone that goes to a movie with you.

I guess my concerns in my case would be:

- Closest AMC theater is a bit out of the way . . . could take 90 minutes driving back and forth depending on traffic.
- I barely find 1-2 movies a month I would want to see
- Don't have the time to schedule and devote that much time to going out multiple nights each week
- Even though the cost of the movies would be worth it, I'd have to take my wife out to dinner and then load up on concessions, so at that point it would get price prohibitive pretty quick.
- With an IPTV platform set up at our house, all these movies will end up watchable for close to nothing in a couple of months (IIRC, we pay like $99 a year for every pay channel and also get streaming of recent flicks included as well).

Not knocking the movie going experience. Would have loved it when I went to the movies all the time 30ish years ago. Maybe I am just an old duff, but I liked the feature films from the 80s/90s/00s more than what they've been putting out over the past 10+ years. Some films are way better on a big screen with mega sound, but a lot of them that doesn't make a huge difference.

That's similar to the Cinemark deal I've been using for years. And its a good deal, but AMC blows it away. If you just went to two movies a month, you'd come out way ahead (film around here generally go for $15-20 a pop).
Since I'm retired in full force and Senior Centers and bars no longer hold attraction to me, its a great thing to keep me occupied. If I was still in Texas where I could sip beer all day and play Moon or 42, I'd probably do that instead

Yes, it takes me about 25 minutes to get ot the nearest AMC and that's a drawback, but doable.
I thought I'd have trouble finding enough to make it worthwhile, but the smorgasboard has been quite satisfying thus far.

Biggest downside IMO is that I'm used to pausing a movie to go pee or rewinding a bit when I miss some dialog.

My wife and I have had Regal Unlimited, which is the Regal Theaters equivalent, for about 4 years now. We love it. In 2024, we saw 76 movies in the theater. We've seen 28 so far in 2025, so down a little bit, but still seeing about 5-6 month on average. I think our cost is $21.50 per month.

They also have a one movie a week plan for $14.99 a month. That would be more my speed. I could probably find 4 flicks a month I would consider watching (although the fine print says only valid at classic / standard AMC theaters . . . which is none of the ones anywhere near me).

I have this as well. I think it's a couple dollars more a month. I hardly use it so it's debatable if I should cancel it. You do other discounts on concessions that help cover the cost. This is for one person though. The Regal I go to is a about a 20-25 minute drive. It's also very very quiet. I worry at some point it will shut down. Nice to see movies in quiet theaters. Most I see are only a a few other people. Might have to look into one of those other theater chain deals.
