Any news on Branch signing yet? (1 Viewer)

My draft is underway and into the 5th round of a 16 team league. I'm thinking of taking a chance on Branch in the 5th or 6th.

Any news is appreciated....

Nothing to report as of 9:00am EST. Today's the deadline so there should be some news be it good or bad.

The Boston Globe reports that Deion Branch and a new team have worked a new contract.

The Globe's Ron Borges curiously buries the news in his article about Branch, while the Boston Herald says the report is unconfirmed. The Patriots set a deadline of Friday to deal Branch, and would still have to work out trade compensation quickly. This news could simply be a leveraging maneuver by Branch's agent.

Yeah, you posted it 6 mins. before me. You are truly on the ball and deserve all of the accolades for imparting this news. Took me a few minutes to research the requested information and post a reply - my bad. Sorry you had to waste 3 seconds of your life reading duplicate information.

Colin Cowherd just dropped the Jets name as a possible place for Branch to end up.

Apparently the team is talking to Branch.

In order for the Pats to trade Branch within the division, I'd say the Jets would have to pony up a couple of high draft picks.

Borges must be the equivalent of Bob Kravitz (Indianapolis) as the local sour####. Plus, he has a short memory:

Perhaps he is, but no team has yet won a Super Bowl by running the ball and throwing to their tight ends.
Um...2000 Ravens anyone?

Borges is a guy who would bury things about the Pats because he's had an axe to grind with Belichick for years now.
