I'm in a 10 team league. We had an auto draft and I only got 2 running backs. I need to pick up someone for bench depth. The following backups are available. Who has the most value?

Marcel Shipp

Mike Anderson

Adrian Peterson(Chi)

Kenny Watson

Jason Wright

Selvin Young

T.J.Duckett

Ron Dayne

Dede Dorsey

Michael Bennett

Jesse Chatman

Kevin Faulk

Correll Buckhalter

Najeh Davenport

Maurice Morris

Michael Robinson

Brian Leonard

I agree with The Other Adrian Peterson - his efficiency numbers have been excellent whenever they gave him the ball, and Benson isn't the healthiest specimen out there. Probably my favorite of this bunch.

DeDe Dorsey is a good gamble, as he's one injury away from putting up solid numbers. Remember, even Dom Rhodes was decent in this system!

Davenport looks tempting, but he's never been able to hold up under any sort of regular work. I don't think he even vultures TDs much.

I think there's a very high chance LJ gets hurt this season, but if that happens it may turn into an RBBC, with Kolby Smith as the goal-line runner. So I'd stay away from that situation.

I also consider Alexander a similarly high risk, but Morris hasn't done much with his opportunities before, and the offensive line has fallen off.

Don't trust the #2 RB in Denver, but I think most of us know this already. If Henry is hurt it will probably be a committee anyway.

Do the Niners even KNOW who their backup is yet? If it really is Robinson, then he would be a nice one - we all know Gore's history, and NFC West schedules rock.

Brian Leonard is a very solid guy, as he should have some sort of role even with SJax around.

Nice preseason but the value is only if EJ goes down and at that point I think duties will be shared with Arrington

Mike Anderson

Another one that needs the starter to go down but will find himself sharing carries even then

Adrian Peterson(Chi)

Not a Chi-town fan so I admit my take is a little biased but when the Benson experiment fails I think Wolfe may actually become a small factor in getting a few of the carries

Kenny Watson

Jason Wright

Selvin Young

Nice finish to his preseason but is could share some carries in case of an injury.

T.J.Duckett

Tell me it aint so. Not a Chi-town fan because I AM a Lion fan. If he gets many carries it means Jones is not back AND Bell is not doing the job and the team is in trouble. I refuse to accept that as a possibility... for a couple weeks at least

Ron Dayne

Been hearing some love for the other guy but if Green were to go down (or wear down as the season goes on) Dayne will have the 1st shot of being the lead committee member

Dede Dorsey

Is Indy a mini Denver - Dommie and now DD?

Michael Bennett

Not sold on the rookie but hey I am an old curmudgeon and would like to think Priest will still have a role behind LJ

Jesse Chatman

Kevin Faulk

Correll Buckhalter

Najeh Davenport

Almost worth consideration but not quite

Maurice Morris

ditto here

Michael Robinson

Not a 9'r fan but they must be thinking of Robinson the way I do Duckett

Brian Leonard

Yes - get him now

Of the list, Leonard is the biggest home run possibility, but you don't really need a home run, you need an RB with the best chance of getting you something, anything. To that end, I'd look at the following:Michael Pittman (has a GREAT history of actually producing in the NFL, the loss of Alstott helps, Caddy's an injury waiting to happen. Even more valuable in PPR leagues).

Ron Dayne (Ahman Green has an injury history and is positively decrepit by NFL RB standards, and Dayne looked awesome getting action late last season).

Adrian Peterson (What has Benson ever shown at the NFL level? He's got a 4.1 career ypc behind a solid OLine, and while his college resume was impressive, he hasn't shown much durability in the NFL).
