Any Prius Owners Here? (1 Viewer)

58mpg from Bergen County, NJ to Monroe, CT - about 70 miles. Couldn't be happier.
:pickle: Welcome to the club!
Just took the plunge myself. I burned out a 2002 Infinit i35 this summer and for the strangest reason my wife talked me into getting a truck. I had always wanted one, but never had a real use for it. After a week or so of the "car talks" I ended up with a 2010 Tundra Crewmax. After deciding on getting a truck I figured I needed a big one having two kids.Fast forward about 6 months and I hated everything about that truck. I went back to Carmax last weekend, took the kids and the car seats...put them both in the Prius to confirm they would fit and ended up leaving with the Prius. Took a slight hit on the truck, but I'll make it up pretty quick saving about $350 on fuel each month. The damn thing is kind of fun to drive too. :banned:

Yesterday I bought a CPO 2011 Prius II. 15k miles, only been in service since January 2012. Looking forward to owning it. I've only driven it 70 miles so far, but I've gotten 59mpg!

I've had a Honda civic hybrid for 19 months now, and I've gotten 41 mpg over 44000 miles I've had it. But, it's got 117,000 miles on it now so I'm giving it to my son if he acts right. It drives like a brand new car and should be good for another 100k miles so I couldn't practically give it to them as a trade in.

Once you get used to very high gas mileage, it's almost impossible to settle for 25-30!

I know this is a Prius thread but there are so many car threads I didn't want to start a new one.

I'm going to buy a new car in the next few months and would really like to buy a hybrid for environment reasons . What do you guys think about the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid? They claim 47 mpg city and highway but the reviewers state you'd be lucky to get 40. Still pretty good, though. I personally like the look better than the Prius.

Congrats! It warms my heart to know that my favorite FBG username has the same car as me!

Im curious as to what you paid for the 2011, only because you basically just described my car. I bought it new..but I've only put about 16k miles on it so far (I have a short commute but still wanted the efficiency and plan to drive it forever). Mine does have leather but it is still a Prius II.

Enjoy!

Well a deer killed my Prius last week. I had bought it with 15k miles in April 2013 and had almost exactly 160k on it 2 and a half years later. Never did anything but change the oil and rotate the tires. The stock tires lasted until 75k and the Michelins I bought then were still on it and doing fine 85k miles later. Over the 145k miles I drove I got 46.7 mpg at about 95% highway vs city. It was a good car. Now I'm either going to get another one with more fancy stuff like leather and power seats since I drive so much or I may look at the Fusion Energi Hybrid. I drove one this weekend and it was much bigger and smoother than my Prius. It's the same price as most of the similarly equipped prius.

Sorry I never answered this! Didn't see it until now.

I found a 2015 prius II on sale (4th of july) for $22,500 out of the door for the wife. She works in sales so needs something with good gas mileage. I could not pull money out of my account fast enough. Honestly, it was only a few thousand over the used versions i looked at with 20-30K miles. Not sure if you can wait but there are really good deals to be had out there.

For someone looking to spend 10k this is probably out of the question, but the finance and I just got a 2011 Lexus ct200h.

- It's got a Prius engine in it.

- All hybrid parts warrantied to 100,000 miles.

- Every tank of gas gas has been between 41 and 45 MPG. (Mostly freeway - Twin Cities area).

- The 10 gallon tank means I'm only putting $35 in at the gas station...winning!

- the 45MPG was a road trip.

- Does not need premium gas

- Has a button to switch between sport mode and economy mode on the fly...the sport mode actually has a lot of kick/power and feels like a little sports car.

- 2011s can be found for 30k

- We get comments left and right on the looks.
Comments like " That's a Lexus? It looks like a car 30K cheaper." Worst Lexus ever made. Reminds me of the pos Cadillac Catera back in the day.

Another CT200h owner here. It has all the gas/money saving benefits of the Prius but it sure doesn't feel like you're driving a Prius which is great.
