Any sneaky WR/TE pick up plays for weeks 15/16 (1 Viewer)

Dez out, Bowe out, Jared Cook out, etc....Looking for depth on roster just in case someone like Nicks comes up lame during the week, bad weather hits, etc. Thinking TE's in non mandatory TE leagues like Greg Olson, Brandon Myers, etc. or WR's who may get a shot with WR's hurt - Ogletree, Baldwin, etc. Anybody with good matchups who might make the most of the opportunity the next 2 weeks?

Justin Blackmon has three potentially great matchups to close out the season.

Like Andrew Hawkins a lot against the Eagles.

Assuming Jay Cutler doesn't implode again against the Packers as he's been prone to do, Alshon Jeffrey could be a very play this week.

just curious, how many times has cutler faced the packers as a bear? And how many times has he had really bad games? I know its more than one but not sure how many

Cutler's history against the Packers as a Bear:2012

11-27-126 1 TD, 4 INTs

2011

21-37-302 2 TDs, 2 INTs

2010

16-27 221 1 TD, 1 INT

21-39 168 0 TDs, 2 INTs

Are you starting him?

If I get him on Waivers this week yes. The only WR I have ahead of him on my list right now is Blackmon but I have two RBs ahead of both of them so not sure who I end up getting.

For those looking for TE flyer...Ben Watson vs the Redskins this week.

Redskins are last in the league in defending the TE position.

Last 4 games Watson is averaging 6+ targets per game.

He could do in a pinch. I'm also considering grabbing Scheffler if Pettigrew's out. He's been targeted 10, 5, 6, & 10 times over the last four weeks. Nothing fabulous in the TE position on the WW, so you have to look at targets & matchups at this point. Chandler's also a possibility, as is Harbor.

I looked at Chandler too, but the Seahawks are the #1 defense in the NFL in defending the TE (fantasy wise).I like Harbor's schedule (Bengals this week, vs Redskins next week) but it looks like Celek will only miss one game.

Scheffler is a possibility too..but waiting to see the word on Pettigrew.

As does packersfan, I like Hawkins a lot for week 15. Seeing lots of targets, producing nicely, and good match up. Very likely still on the WW.

Amendola because of his injuries or Givens could still possibly be in the wire for leagues still allowing transactions. They have very nice wk 15 & 16 match ups: MIN, @TB

Saints have TB in week 15 are at Dallas in week 16. If you're really desperate for a flex or WR3 (like in a deep league) maybe look at Morgan or Henderson.

The Colts face soft pass D's @HOU and @KC next two weeks. Maybe Avery if he's on the wire. Fleener's another possibility here.

Carolina @SD and vs. OAK next two weeks; maybe LaFell hit the wire recently and is going to play (CAR is supposedly optimistic he will) or even L. Murphy if you're desperate.

As mentioned Streater's been doing well last two weeks but keep hearing Pryor will get a look (http://www.sfgate.com/raiders/article/Will-the-Raiders-play-Terrelle-Pryor-4101151.php) so not sure how much PT Pryor would get and if he'd come in mid-game or something so I think there's a risk there.

McCluster anyone? Maybe Moeaki?

Pitta very likely on the wire but BAL is supposed to go back more to the offense that showcased Pitta.

Do you have any more info on Baltimore going to Pitta more? The change of OC scares me more that it reassures me there.

This was in the waiver wire column at Rotoworld:
The Ravens will reportedly revert to their early-season no-huddle offense with Jim Caldwell taking over as the play-caller. It should be a boon to Pitta’s fantasy value, as he was a sure-fire TE1 in that offense for the first month of the season.
And a couple of non-Pitta specific articles about Caldwell's anticipated impact on the BAL O.http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/12/jim-caldwell-hired-what-will-change-under-jim-caldwell--83022.html

Nice  . I just picked up Pitta off the wire. I was completely lost on what to do with the TE for the playoffs. Go back about 3-4 weeks I had Findley and Olsen. Then I dropped both for Tamme and Clark. Then this week Tamme and Clark did nothing. Looked like with Stokley back Tamme's production was down. Clark seems like a TD or nothing type of guy. I didn't have a lot to choose from so I just went to the FBG cheatsheets and saw Pitta ranked pretty high. Saw he was going against DEN which is near the top for pts allowed to TE. So I dropped Tamme and picked up Pitta, and promptly put him in the starting lineup. Then I saw this post... looks positive.

I used Pitta last week, but I'm a little wary of using him this week because of the Broncos pass rush - afraid TE's are going to be asked to do too much pass protection this week. Broncos are not good vs. the tight end in coverage, just concerned their won't be enough opportunities.

This could be true. What's also true is that a good way to beat an oncoming blitz is to throw over the top of it with dump-offs to sure-handed targets like Pitta in an open middle backfield.ETA: Someone have more info on this Clay Harbor fellow? Looks to be solid when used, catches almost all of his targets, etc. Could he be a really sneaky play with Celek out?

I'm also rolling with Scheffler this week. It's a big risk, but if Pettigrew is out, he should see a good amount of balls.

I have no data to back this up, but I've watched pretty much every Cardinals game for the past 20 years, and Adrian Wilson is a pretty poor cover safety, especially against TE's. I'm not sure if he is going to be playing a lot Sunday, but TE's seem to carve up the Cards a good deal.

I would take a strong look at Scheffler....he often gets looks in the passing game regardless...

and

Jason Avant

was a quick pick up and play for me last week in a league....Jackson out....Riley Cooper ain't all that.....Maclin got a tender groin....Foles seems to like Avant who went off pretty big last week...

Clark has a great matchup this week vs NO, who he burned for a TD last time. Also intrigued by Bennett, who got dropped in my league after he disappeared mid-season, but has scored in the last couple games and has a decent matchup vs Atlanta. After reading this thread, I'm also considering Pitta (although he does seem to have a weird even-odd thing going since Week 9, and he's due for a bad one this week).

My current starter is Rudolph, who was looking solid before his goose egg last week. It really sucks trusting your fantasy life to Christian Ponder being a competent passer.

If Eli would look Bennett's way a little more often (even though he was 2nd in targets last week), Bennett could have big ff potential. There were several occasions last week where Eli threw into coverage to Nicks/Cruz while Bennett was W I D E open on the plays.

Not Sheffler, he can't produce points even with the targets he gets. Very low ceiling imo. The TE to get is Watson against the Skins. I'm not starting Watson over Jimmy F'n Graham, but I did pick him up to play keepaway from my opponent.

:goodposting: I like Watson as a great sleeper this week too.

I've got pettigrew so I'm looking at dreesen Myers Rudolph scheffler Watson on the ww (10 teamer). I almost wish I didn't have so many choices! What a crapshoot
