Any updated on Jesse Chatman? (1 Viewer)

Why did we hear about Ricky's injury today but nothing on Chatman? Anyone have any updates?
Because they know more about Ricky's injury. Chatman could play this coming week. Ricky won't be playing again, they could say it with certainty. They..just don't know how bad Chatman is now.

Dolphins | Chatman’s status is unknown

Tue, 27 Nov 2007 18:42:01 -0800

Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins RB Jesse Chatman's (ankle, neck) status for Week 13 is unknown. Chatman went into the team's Week 12 game with an ankle injury and suffered a stinger during the game.

According to Rotoworld:

Samkon Gado would likely start for the Dolphins if Jesse Chatman misses time with his ankle and neck injuries.

Gado isn't back on the Dolphin's roster yet, but apparently Patrick Cobbs' special teams ability is what kept him from being cut instead of Samkon. The Dolphins would prefer someone with Gado's experience as their starter. Chatman's status for for Week 13 should be more clear after Wednesday's practice, but Gado would be playing behind a solid offensive line against the Jets, making him a nice speculative pick-up. I'm clueless as to why Booker wouldn't at least see the field in this situation. What do the Dolphins have to lose?

From all reports he's a bright hard working kid. Playbook shouldn't be an issue at this point.

He is either really really bad or buried so far in Cameron's dog house he's never getting out.

I keep hearing he's been terrible picking up his blocking assignments. Also, a few weeks ago he was moved to be a slot WR where he's been practicing recently. I'm assuming he'snow been moved back to RB and will be used as a 3rd down back.

Somewhat encouraging news for Chatman owners from Rotoworld:

Jesse Chatman practiced in full pads Wednesday, but had both his ankles heavily taped and reportedly moved gingerly. He split time with Samkon Gado on the first and second units, so it appears the Fins are getting Gado ready to play just in case Chatman can't go. It is a great sign, however, that Chatman was able to do anything. He's also been dealing with a neck injury, so his participation Wednesday wasn't anticipated.

So, did they resign Gado?

I hadn't seen anything on that. Everything's been speculative.

This RotoWire blurb is much more encouraging:

Coach Cam Cameron said that Chatman's neck is fine, and that the running back should be ready to play Sunday against the Jets, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Spin: In this report at least, Chatman's ankle issues weren't mentioned, but it's a good sign that Cameron is optimistic at this stage of the week. More on Chatman's status in the coming days.

From Fanball:

Dolphins: Chatman's neck fine

11/28/07 03:58 PM

THE NEWS

On the same day the Dolphins officially placed Ricky Williams on injured reserve and re-signed running back Samkon Gado, coach Cam Cameron told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that Jesse Chatman's injured neck is "fine," and he should be ready to start on Sunday against the Jets.

Our View

Gado probably would have been in line for a start ahead of Patrick Cobbs, but Chatman is apparently ready to roll. Assuming he makes it through the rest of the week without a setback to either his injured ankle or neck, Chatman is a solid play against an awful Jets run defense in Week 13.

It would be nice not to have to play FWP on that field again.

By the way, a big :football: to the Rooney's as a FWP owner who knows he could have gotten 2 much, much better games against Miami and Cincy if they were playing on fieldturf.
