Any Week 17 Championships Out there? (1 Viewer)

Partly tradition, partly scheduling, we have a 17 week season. Kind of nice to have action til the end but it feels lonely out here.

I'm playing for mine and an enormous dog. I feel like when the jabroni team goes to the super bowl and just spends all week video taping because they know they don't belong and they know they wont be back.

Wish I had a week 17 championship, but logistically speaking it's just really difficult to work out. It's gotten better since the league changed the last few weeks to division play in the schedule as that reduces players being benched, but it's still not perfect.

I'm a little OCD, so it really bothers me that a we have a 13 week reg season and a team is unable to accumulate an even .500 record...

Yep, right there with you OP. In the championship game this weekend, and while I was resistant to it at first it has grown on me. We had been a 16-week league until this year & decided to try it.

What stands out to me is just like every playoff season - it's about the players on the A-, B+ NFL teams who still have to fight for a win, which means ff stats. It's just a little more heightened by week 17 action. My opponent has Peyton at QB, which sucks for him as he looks at either 0 or partial stats from him this weekend.

I think playoffs go about 60-40

and week 17 comes down to 50-50

Who will be Week 17's version of Roddy White? Or of Megatron? We'll have to wait & see.

I wish we could get away from it in my main league, but with 4 4-team divisions, a 14-game regular season works really well (play own division twice, 2 others once each). We'd need to put in a doubleheader week or unbalance the schedule.

in on Week 17 too. i don't like it, but it just means you have to plan your roster better as the playoffs approach. i picked up extra QBs just in case my starters were going to sit, for example. one year, i have to say, was phenomenal, as GB and CAR each needed to rack up points in case the tie breakers came down to total points. i had ahman green and steve beurlein and both went off for, like, 5 TDs each.

Last week’s starters for both teams were

His – Peyton, Jamaal Charles, Josh Gordon, Megatron, Jordy, Zach Miller, Janikowski and Rams D

Mine – Flacco, Woodhead, Keenan Allen, Antonio Brown, Decker, Delanie Walker, Gould and Panthers D

I’m trying to figure out how to get Cordarrelle Patterson in my lineup this week because we get return yards
