Anyone concerned about AJ Brown (1 Viewer)

Guy is nicked up every year, then a report came out that his knee was being drained twice a week. Guy is in his prime but seems to be breaking down fast.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said A.J. Brown (hamstring) is “working through some things” when asked if Brown suffered a setback after missing practice on Thursday.
Brown was sidelined by a hamstring strain in early August. He briefly resumed practicing before being sidelined once again. Team reporters are listing Brown as being sidelined by a hamstring injury, though Sirianni’s comments on the matter are vague. For what it’s worth, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said, “it feels like the hope is” that Brown resumes practicing “sometime in the near future,” adding that he doesn’t “sense any great concern” from the team, regarding the injury.

I traded him a few years back partly because I didn’t like his QB and he looked like a breakdown candidate, but he has been pretty darn good and while I certainly didn’t get fleeced in the deal I might have been better holding.

Knee draining isn’t a positive thing, no. Had a goalie on our hockey team with that issue and it was really a problem. Brown says it’s fine. He had surgery on both knees in 2021, so it’s been an issue, but he’s been excellent.

Traded one of my AJB shares with an future 2nd and 3rd for Garrett Wilson, even though they ended up roughly same numbers i was kicking myself for giving so much. Now im thinking its going to pay off

From a distance I would also say too much but weirder stuff has happened. I’ve made some great trades that just failed and some bad ones that worked out. You certainly got younger. It’s just Wilson’s QB is never settled.

But A.J. has always been too maxed out, IMO. Reminds me of a much more reasonable David Boston.

What do you mean by “too maxed out”?

What do you mean by “too maxed out”?

Bulked up to the point of inflexibility or being overworked and resulting in a higher probability of injury.

Ah. No idea. I do think Philly has one of the best training/strength & conditioning staffs in the league, so I am not as worried about that as I might be if he played on a team with a poor track record in those areas.

Not targeting in my re-draft leagues, but not avoiding if he drops a couple spots below ADP.

Feel like his price has dropped off enough in dynasty that you want him if you're competing.

That knee has been a problem since the Tennessee days, but he seems to get it done,

Maybe don’t reach on him but the discussion seems to fall in the range of Ladd, and I think I still favor AJ

Albeit I can feel your skepticism but it’s hard to bypass him
He’s currently dealing with a hammy, and reportedly it’s nothing serious.

I’ve not seen any reports about a knee issue this preseason. He had a bone bruise in 2020. Kinda flukey, nothing structural. 2024 he dealt with one that had him getting his knee drained , but he’s said that’s behind him.
