Anyone concerned with Welker after Hernandez comes back? (1 Viewer)

I didn't catch the first two Pats games, was he just not part of the gameplan or what? Any chance that happens again?

NE will have to make a choice, either feature the run game, which would come at the expense of welker or use their traditional welker offense, at the slight expense of ridley and hernandez. i think they will go with the run so i think yes, welker's numbers will suck again once hernandez comes back.

I would be. Lloyd is the #1 wr, Gronk is Gronk and we saw Hernandez's role and Welkers before he got hurt. I'd look to deal him ASAP.

Do think it's fair to say Welker got targeted 11 times in one of the weeks you say he was not part of the gameplan. Of course Hernandez essentially missed that entire game and Welker only had one target in the first half. Than you had the Edelman injury at the half of the next game. At half of the game Edelman got hurt, Welker had 5 targets which is solid but Edelman had 7 targets and 2 carries for 9 touches so almost doubling up Welker in the time they played in addition to beating him on snap counts.

So right now I feel good saying Welker is benefiting a great deal from Hernandez and Edelman's injury but can't quite say for sure which one has the biggest impact. Hernandez is probably more of a threat to his targets but Edelman is more of a threat to his PT which of course limits targets.

I do believe that if Edelman and Hernandez both return to health Welker's role is going to diminish into more of what we saw in week 1 in terms of PT. I'm just not certain at this point who is more of a blow to Welkers value, Edelman or Hernandez, but I think a healthy combo of the two crushes Welkers value to the point that in PPR leagues he won't be a guy you automatically are putting in your lineup every week.

A little, since so many others are not I flipped him and Doug Martin into Ryan Mathews and Greg Jennings then took my already rostered Cobb, mixed in Greg Jennings and AJ Green to get Harvin and Julio.

So, Wes Welker + Doug Martin + AJ Green + Randall Cobb net me Ryan Mathews + Percy Harvin + Julio Jones. Even if Welker is fone I think moving him was worthwhile, I'd try to do the same. Wouldn't sell him for $.80 on the dollar, but you can probably get draft day value for him still.

Lloyd seems like the one who will suffer the most. His targets decreased dramatically in the last game.

Not so sure. He might be the ultimate sell high after this game but I don't think he gets phased out. He will lose some targets.
