Anyone have a juicer machine in their house? (1 Viewer)

She definitely was trying to sabotage the Ninja with that cumbersome act at the end there.  Funny.  It's worth noting that she was using the 1000 watt Ninja.  There is a 1500 watt Ninja that I'm sure would fare better.  And it's less than half the price of the other two they compared.  That was not a very fair comparison.

Anyway, what I have found in all this is that those are the 3 to choose from.  The Ninja is not perfect but works well and is the best value out there.  The other two are for next level blending and stuff.  They are the best in their segment but you pay for it.    Can't go wrong with either but I found more pros with the Blendtec.  And the price is a little lower.

Either go big and get one of the lower end Blendtecs for around 300 (the high end ones are overkill).  Or save a couple hundred bucks and be very satisfied with the Ninja.

Thanks for this.  Well, the Ninja had the hottest blender babe, so that's good enough for me.

Seriously, I found it funny that she had issues with the "twist and lock" feature of the Ninja.  You see how it works, and it's never an issue again.  Maybe it's me, but I don't mind a little texture to my smoothies.  Just wasn't worth the extra 170-400 to go all out - but I'm not yet a daily use kinda guy.  Maybe when this one goes, hopefully many years from now.
I hear you. I guess if you're using it infrequently it's not a huge deal.  For me i got the Blendtec because I needed to eat way more vegetables/fiber and doing it the conventional way seemed almost impossible. I wanted to use it every day.  Now I'm eating more vegetables in 3-4 weeks than i would in an entire year. Investing in the blendtec was a no brainer for me because of how often I planned on using it. 17 months in and still using it every day.

Yeah, I'm currently a 3-4 times a week user - but it's also the "new toy", so that could dwindle a bit.  I've still got the traditional "juicer" gathering dust in the cabinet (such a pain in the ### to clean!) if I want "juice".  We got that after watching that juicing "documentary" on Netflix, and did use it a few times.  Went full out 100% juice diet (well, juice and my morning coffee) for 10 days and lost a few pounds.

A family member was given a vitamix 2 years ago after an accident when we thought there was a chance she'd have her jaw wired shut and would be drinking through a straw.  I agree, that thing is a beast, but was just a bit more both in horsepower and $ than what I needed.

In case there is anyone else still juicing, I have the Omega NC900...  and its awesome and very easy to clean. I use it 5 times per week and make it the night before - takes about 15-20 minutes total with cleanup.

3-4 times a week is a fairly frequently.  Also depends on what you're blending.  If you're just doing fruit smoothies then maybe the ninja is fine.

I'd stick to the blender and ditch the juicer permanently.  The fiber is the key.  Separating the sugar from the fiber is a no-no.  We grew up thinking OJ was the perfect healthy drink in the morning. It's just sugar.

I see a lot of people here going heavy on the sugar in their blends. If using it for health reasons is what you're doing then go heavy veg and light fruit. Stick to unsweetened almond milk if you add that to the blends. Carrots and beets are the cholesterol fighters. Mix up your greens every other day and use a ton of them. A half frozen banana will sweeten the taste sufficiently. It may be off-putting at first but your palate will eventually adjust to way less sugar.

So far just mostly fruit/yogurt/almond milk type concoctions....and alcoholic drinks/daiquiris/margaritas and such.

I'm actually going to try a family (cold) cucumber soup recipe soon.
