Anyone here play world of tanks? (1 Viewer)

I did a number of years back. It was fun but my biggest problem was being on a laptop mostly.... just sucks to operate the tank on a arrows and a touch pad. 

 
I played for a bit when my kids discovered it as an app for their phones.  It is a huge battery hog for phones, so I uninstalled it.  I then found out a neighbor of mine has a group of guys they play with and was going to download it to my Xbox, but then I found out they play on their computers so I couldn't join them.

It's a neat little game and something I could get in to, but only if I found a good group of people to play with on Xbox.  Playing with randoms wouldn't be nearly as fun.

Yeah can't imagine it on a phone. Not sure how the Xbox game works but if it is like the computer side there should be clans or groups to join to play together. Finding non aholes randomly might take some time.

+1   I play WT on my desktop at home.  Early on I got a reward of 1 MM coins (or equivalent), so was able to level whatever I wanted.  Then I found it became rather difficult to gain new coins.  Now I focus on playing with Russian tanks level 2 as a way to make coins.  Play on arcade mode.

 
Freemium games blow.   Miss the days you could drop 50 bucks and get the whole game.

I play War Thunder without putting anything in and find it rather enjoyable.  Do better than most so the free aspect does work there.

 
I had it on the ipad. got tired of the touchpad. deleted the game

same story with war robots

War Thunder is actually pretty cool if you are into WW2 airplanes.  You basically get all the planes you would be interested in flying with minimal time playing.  The planes all have different flight characteristics, so the time it takes to unlock new planes gives you time to get comfortable with each plane before moving on to the next.  I still find myself going back to the beginning tier planes just because they are fun to play around with.

 
So I went ahead and downloaded this for xbox after having my arm twisted by a friend that was over. 

Not really getting the appeal.  It's a FPS in a tank.  meh.

Seems like the way to win is to know where all the spots are that you can snipe from without getting hit and getting yourself set up just perfectly in them.  

Is there a similar flying one for the xbox that is like this?   I would think a flying game would not have so much camping.
