Anyone in a pinch starting CJ Spiller this week? (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking of starting him over Battle and Lynch.

Figure he had the bye week to get more comfortable with the routes. Also assuming/hoping he's gonna get at least some carries to spell Fred Jackson. Thinking he could bust some plays for a good amount of yardage. Like the upside.

Anyone else starting him?

I am. Could make a fantasy day in a play.

My RB are also so so.

Hoping he can flash his 4.3 speed on a go route. Just because he is a RB doesn't mean he can't run deep!

I am forced to start Spiller and Donald Brown this week with byes and injuries to nearly my whole squad. No free agent pickups in my league (only waivers - wish I had made a couple extra moves this week but was distracted).

Were his 5 receptions 2 weeks ago strictly from the WR position? And how certain is it that Spiller is going to continue to see significant snaps at the WR spot?

I too am contemplating playing Spiller. However the other 2 options I'm looking at are Helu and Keiland Williams.

Every reception was as a WR. He had zero carries.
Right - and what I'm hoping for this week would be a few more catches and some carries. You would think Chan Gailey wouldn't want to burn out FJax. If Spiller could get 6-8 receptions and 5-7 carries that might be enough for him to total 100 yards. Maybe.Idk he's probably not a great start. Out of the guys mentioned, I think I'd play him over......Helu (Until I knew Torrain wasn't gonna be the man)Keiland (only b/c I think DET will just revert to more passing and MoMo will still take half of limited yardage)Lynch (b/c I can't trust that back).....but not sure if I should roll with Spiller over Battle. It's impossible to know what Todd Haley will do. If he splits carries among all those KC RBs, then Spiller could be better than Battle too.

My opponent picked him up to start this week along side Fjax. His other RBs are Leon Washington and Beanie Wells.

Is there anything to suggest the bold other than hope? This is the 2nd year in a row i've owned Spiller in multipler leagues (I can't fathom how a guy with his rare/elite talent can't get on the field) but I don't see anything to suggest his role is going to suddenly increase. I'm in a pinch in one league but I'm scouring the wire for flex players to start over CJ.
