Anyone playing MLB 9 innings 18? (1 Viewer)

Baseball is not a spectator sport to me. I prefer to play the game either for real or in video games.

I recently downloaded RBI baseball on my Xbox because MLB The Show is a PS exclusive. I wasted money because the game is absolutely awful.

I recently got 9 innings on my phone for free and it blows any Xbox baseball game out of the water. Great graphics and gameplay. I’m learning to build a pretty good team without spending any money. Anyone else in to it?

I haven't had much time to mess with it yet, but my quick impression was that it relies pretty heavily on in-app purchases.

I'll play with it this weekend.

That's what she said.
All app games push that but it’s npt required unless you are impatient. I haven’t spent a dime and I’m building a competitive team around 75 overall and I’ve only been playing a week. There are plenty of little tricks to get good players without spending any cash that I can share with you.

Its either spend money or grind. It’s a fun game so the grinding isn’t a pain.

The gameplay is top notch for a free to play sports game. Let me know what you think.

In a week I built my lineup like this...

My batters range from 66-80 overall but if you mix the lineup the right way and hit based on their strengths it’s effective.

Im very strategic with my bunts to get guys in position and utilize push and pull hits based on where my runners are on the bases to manufacture runs. You can’t just swing for the fences with everyone

i was a luckier on my pack pulls with pitchers. I’ve got 2 solid gold starters in the mid 80s that are very effective. My middle relievers and setup guys are average at best but I’ve got a Silver Chapman as my closer that can put the brakes on the other teams in the 9th.

Just like real baseball pitching is the key to winning.  I go outside with breaking balls on the shorter pitchers and get the bigger guys to whiff or ground out on fastballs inside. If you can get ahead in the pitch count a curve or changeup that just barely touches the bottom of the box can usually get the strikeout.

All about the setup. What I love about the game is it’s a sim and not arcade ball. You really have to be strategic in every game and just find a way to make it happen. Pitch placement, bunting and steals can make a huge difference.

You build up points for all the little things you do in game. That allows you to pull more packs and get more players.
