TE Mili, WR D. Jackson, Practice

TE Itula Mili returned to practice Wednesday, and the team is assuming he will start against the Lions. "He's still not quite there yet," OC Gil Haskell said of Mili. Thursday will be key, to see how his knee responds. WR Darrell Jackson participated in his second consecutive practice on Wednesday. HC Mike Holmgren said it will be a game-day decision on how much Jackson will play in Detroit. Haskell sees an immediate dividend in having Jackson back as he expects the Lions will stack the line of scrimmage in an attempt to stop RB Shaun Alexander.
I'm starting him. His knee, of course, was more severe than TO's hammy "injury," but I see the two situations as roughly parallel -- Jackson has never been much of a practice player, and he used the preseason to ensure that he got as healthy as possible.
I would limit my expectations, but I think he will be a serviceable #2WR. In addition to the comments in the article above about wanting to loosen up the Detroit defence, the Hawks' first game of the season is in the stadium where they lost their last and biggest game of last year. They will want to use every tool at their disposal to exorcise the demons and get off on the right foot. With their TE situation still sketchy, the Hawks will absolutely need to rely on their WR corps to stretch the field.
I'm not expecting 100 yards and a touch, but 65 and a 50% shot at a touchdown is probable, IMHO.
ETA typo fixes. Hey, it's been a while. I'm rusty.
