Anyone rolling dice on D. Jackson at Detroit (1 Viewer)

Rumors that reporters are throwing around on TV is that his injury may not have been that bad and he just did not want to partake in training camp and pre-season games. We all know that they said he is to play but be limited in the amount of snaps.

Is his limited playing time against Detroit still a decent #2 WR?

Who is going to play him?

His injury was severe, I'm not sure what

those clowns are reporting. I own him, and will

sit him until he shows that he can produce.

bad, bad move. He is listed as WR3 on the Hawks this week and would be lucky to crack the starting lineup. No link, just based on watching tv today and reading the SEA newspapers

The guy I am playing this week in my Dynasty has him and is starting him.

Opening week, division game, one of my best buddies and usually my competition for the division title.

I hope D-Jax decides to play it safe and wait a week to return.

I had not even considered it until I read he would play. Other matchups not so great. L Evans at NE, Stallworth at Hou and A. Johnson at Phi.We will have to see how much more he practices.

I'm benching him this week in favor of Antonio Bryant. Let's hope Bryant and Smith are really connecting.

I'm starting him, he's a solid no 3 WR IMO. Holmgren said on the radio this morning that best case senario he be in on 25 plays this weekend. I get pretty thin at WR after 3, so I need to roll the dice on DJAX

i see, i would probably go with Evans over DJAx just because i like to go with sure things (at least sure starters) in week 1. I like to see everyone play a game before i start taking risks. But, thats just me.

Wow, this is the most negative take on DJax that I've seen. I'm not starting him, but look to by week 2. He was a monster in the playoffs last year (AFTER he came back) and then went in for cleanup after. When any veteran makes it back just in time for the opener and is slated to play it is a good sign to me. Sit him at your own risk.

How exactly do you know how severe his injury was?Hes had a long-standing contract issue with SEA management, and its perfectly plausible that DJAX missed more time than necessary to show his displeasure.

From Yahoo Fantasy:

Sep 6 Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks WR Darrell Jackson (knee) practiced Wednesday, Sept. 6, and looked good in the process. He is probable for Week 1.

From the Blogger:

TE Mili, WR D. Jackson, Practice

Associated Press, ESPN - [Full Article]

TE Itula Mili returned to practice Wednesday, and the team is assuming he will start against the Lions. "He's still not quite there yet," OC Gil Haskell said of Mili. Thursday will be key, to see how his knee responds. WR Darrell Jackson participated in his second consecutive practice on Wednesday. HC Mike Holmgren said it will be a game-day decision on how much Jackson will play in Detroit. Haskell sees an immediate dividend in having Jackson back as he expects the Lions will stack the line of scrimmage in an attempt to stop RB Shaun Alexander.

I'm starting him. His knee, of course, was more severe than TO's hammy "injury," but I see the two situations as roughly parallel -- Jackson has never been much of a practice player, and he used the preseason to ensure that he got as healthy as possible.

I would limit my expectations, but I think he will be a serviceable #2WR. In addition to the comments in the article above about wanting to loosen up the Detroit defence, the Hawks' first game of the season is in the stadium where they lost their last and biggest game of last year. They will want to use every tool at their disposal to exorcise the demons and get off on the right foot. With their TE situation still sketchy, the Hawks will absolutely need to rely on their WR corps to stretch the field.

I'm not expecting 100 yards and a touch, but 65 and a 50% shot at a touchdown is probable, IMHO.

ETA typo fixes. Hey, it's been a while. I'm rusty.

I'm defintely starting him, but expecting a solid #3WR performance!

He won't be on the field enough to expect more, if he was it'd be solid #2WR numbers!

I am starting as my #3

S. Moss and C. Chambers as my 1&2

McCardell and Mush on my bench.

He is gong agaisnt the Lions secondary people. Look at the matchup.

I am not starting him but I do have T Holt, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and R brown starting.

It came down to D Jackson or R Brown. I decided to go with Brown although I still have time to change my mind.

Now I see Housh may not play :wall: I would probly put D Jackson in then.
