Anyone starting Kaep against the Pats? (1 Viewer)

Kaepernick is very fortunate to not have 2 FL - Brown jumped on the 2nd one. He threw that last 3rd down pass like a shot put. No grip. Wouldn't be surprised to see him come it with a glove in the 2nd half.

It's a mess. I'm hoping the rain slows down a bit. I could see a game script where Kaep will have to run more in these conditions. He has about 12 points right now at the half.

I would be happy if he can reach 20. I'm not a huge fan of Kaep myself, but I can't deny that he has been a good fantasy QB the last month.
I agree - I just didn't see this game as a good one for him.

Good fantasy game for Kaep. Couple miracle plays to get it done too - congrats to those who started him. I thought he'd be much worse than 26 points.

She might be ugly, but she is still my date for tonight. 3 weeks in a row over 20 points. Blaine Gabbert was doing the same thing earlier in the season. The game scripts are causing Kaep to be this good. The Niner's playing from behind and defenses going to the prevent and letting Kaep run or pass the underneath garbage time yards. It all adds up.
If you'd watched that game you'd know what a miracle that 2nd TD was.  Dunno if you saw it but he threw 2 passes in a row that should have been picked, then threw across his body while running out of bounds - miracle catch.  A few plays later TD.

he probably shouldn't have had 20+, but hey - game of inches.

I hear ya, and I was watching. If it keeps happening though at some point he is just a very good streamer QB.  Fantasy points don't have to be pretty. He is not a good real world quarterback, but in the world of fantasy he has put up good numbers 3 weeks in a row. That is a trend.
Yes - a trend that will invariably bite you in the ### if you start to believe. Because one of these games the 2 FL, 2 INT and no miracle catch is gonna happen. Just gotta hope he's not in your lineup when It does.

;)

and 26 isn't great - it's serviceable, but hardly what I'd call good.

I'm not sure why you hated this play so much. He was serviceable today for those of us that carry one QB and had to cover a bye.

Watching the game I feel like we were all right.

He was terrible. He got very very lucky.

I think anyone who started him got very very lucky.

A much more likely outcome was 60 fewer yards, 1 fewer TD, 1 FL (at least) and 1 Int.

i still think it was a bad call. Even after it turned out to be a 1/2 way decent call.

I confuse even myself sometimes. ;)

Huge game by Kaep.

Becoming more and more like a QB1 every week.
As always, I'm big enough to eat crow, especially when served up to me on a silver platter. I think Kaep might be reading my posts and using them as motivation!

I am truly amazed by how great he's been for FFB purposes. I still think he'll bite owners in the butt with a stinker right when people think they can trust him, but there's simply no denying how much he's done with how few weapons he has.

I saw his near 300/100 stat line and couldn't believe it.

Will be interesting to see what happens with his future - he's certainly raised his trade value since SF turned down the deal with Denver....I can't imagine him staying with the 49ers next year, so honestly I have no idea where he'll be.

But there it is - cap tip to Kaepernick. The dude has been balling lights out. No wins to show for it, which is actually a good thing for the 49ers since they need as high a draft pick as possible (so Baalke can F it up).
