Anyone think Nate Washington is still a viable WR option? (1 Viewer)

comfortably numb

I think he may be a good sleeper candidate for a #3 WR spot on most teams.

After a good Week 1, he pretty much has vanished.

He may either be on the WW or can be had pretty cheap.

I think once Pitt's passing game gets going, and Ward receives alot of attention from the DB's, Washington may get some good looks.

I thought he looked pretty good on the opener, but honestly haven't seen much more of him.

Can anyone provide some insight?

I see him as the #4 (or worse) passing option for Ben. Ward the gets the majority of the looks and Wilson is next. Ben leaned on him a lot at the end of last year, and he's the deep threat. Miller is the next option on most plays. That leaves Washington (on 3 Wr sets) battling Haynes/FWP for 4th option.Washington is gaining, but I don't see him moving ahead of Wilson or Miller this year.

Edit to add: dropping the TD against Cinci didn't help him any.

I don't have insight but I picked him off the wire on speculation for my dynasty team. He appears to have good hands speed and body control. Ward isn't getting any younger or faster and they don't have a clear cut #2. I think if they get their passing game going he will get some good looks.

I don't have insight ... you should have stopped there. Clear cut #2? Try Wilson. Holmes is next in line. Ward? Please keep posting that kind of nonsense 'cuase I'd really like to pick him up cheap soon!Only time Nate will see the field is on all out passing downs with 4 WRs. But go ahead and start him! :football:

Tough call...in this O Ward and Miller will likely be Ben's first two options when they aren't running the ball. I do like Washington's upside in a keeper league just think he will be all over the board this year. Holmes may also make an impact at some point this year.

Not sure I agree with you on Wilson. He was invisible most of last year, only to appear in the playoffs. Now this year he has disappeared again so far. I'm just not sold yet. I think Washington has a chance to jump over him.

For the Steelers' sake I am hoping they give Holmes and Reid more time than Washington from here on out. He is a decent WR, but Holmes needs to be on the field more and Reid needs to be given a chance to do some things.

Thanks CrossEyed, I thought I was clear on the dynasty thing. I don't think Washington is going to be more than a three this year but I could see the Steelers making cap moves in the future involving Ward (crazier things have happened and Holmes and Washington if he proves his worth being a tandem. That is why I used the word speculation. We carry 6 wr in a 14 team Dynasty league, I'm certainly not afraid to make him #6.

I concur that Wilson is the clear No. 2, but what he seems best at is going out for the long ball and drawing a pass interference penalty. I believe in 2 of their 3 games this has occurred. Outside of that, he doesn't seem to have a "defined" role.

I wouldn't feel comfortable starting him but what do I know,I cant get any scores from my wide recievers except for Henry and he cant stay out of trouble :wall:
