Anyone trade for Santonio Holmes before week 5? (1 Viewer)

14 team dynasty league

I traded Gore, Huggins, and a 2nd rounder that should be in the 20's somewhere for MJD and Santonio

RR gave up Kolb, Kevin PHI QB;Holmes, Santonio NYJ WR

TH gave up Manning, Eli NYG QB;Meachem, Robert NOS WR

I wouldn't trade Holmes for Beanie (but good luck). I would trade him for Bradshaw.

Was offered Shonn Greene - not sure.

Think you're going to regret that Beanie move. And you aren't getting Bradshaw for him (insane to even think that)I love Holmes as part of the future of the Jets (I think he gets retained, not Edwards). Too many mouths to feed this year however.

The Beanie/Bradshaw for Holmes trade offers were someone else's. I was just replying.

The trade possibility I was considering was Shonn Greene for Santonio Holmes.

I don't like it.

In a 12-team dynasty, I dealt:

Reggie Bush

Devin Hester

Ben Watson

late 2nd

late 4th

for

Fred Taylor

Santonio

Kellen Winslow

mid 3rd

Redraft league, I'd probably do it. Upside of Greene is much higher than that of Holmes this year. (I think Holmes is a Top 20 dynasty WR. I just don't believe this year fantasy wise he's going to make much of a consistent impact)Long way to go. LT unquestionably looks better than Greene, but Greene becomes a Top 15 (at worst IMO) if LT goes down. Weather turns cold, I think you're going to see NYJ ground and pound more. (May even see Greene as a worthy flex play with a healthy LT)

obtained SHolmes in 4 leagues this offseason which should give a wide range view...

pre-NFL draft (yeah i know been ahwile but you said "before week 5" LOL) ... FJax for SHolmes

Ocho Cinco for SHolmes

2011 1st for SHolmes and a 2010 4th (the 2011 1st should be pick 1.14 1.15 or 1.16)

and drafted him in 6th rd in dyno startup

I traded Holmes for Tolbert immediately after Mathews went down -- to be honest I'm kind of regretting it. Holmes (in theory) would have replaced Crabtree and with Mathews back (in theory) I'd probably be in better shape with Holmes.

Holmes is the #3 receiving option on a run first team with a mediocre QB. He no more than a average WR 3 in a 12 team league. He might get you 2-3 100 yd games and a score but many 2 for 28 games. Edwards is the playmaker and Keller is the redzone guy -- not mention Cotch and LT gettign dump offs. maybe 40 - 500 - 3 is the best you hope for.

 Holmes is a much better WR than Edwards. Keller will get his but Holmes is the deep threat and top WR. I don't disagree too much with the 40 receptions but if that's all he gets he will still have more like 600 yards and 5 TDs. I suspect it will be more like 50/750/5. In 12 games that isn't bad.

I gave B Jackson and Clayton for him. I think it was after just before or just after week 3 games. I wasn't sold on Clayton yet...hope I don't regret it. I was thinking Holmes would be a WR2...he's definitely worth more than Braylon.

Agreed. Edwards' drops are far more dazzling than Holmes acrobatic catches (see Superbowl, game-winning).
