Are We Dropping Romo? (1 Viewer)

From what I've heard, Romo is likely out 8 weeks, with 6 being a best case scenario. So theoretically he could help us for playoffs, but my hunch is that he won't play another snap this year (especially with Cowboys likely having nothing to play for). Thoughts?

Thanks!

Miller

I'm holding him as long as I can afford the roster space. I can't handle the thought of someone else picking him up and using him come playoffs.I figure if I can make it through my players bye weeks and hold to him there really aren't any players on the WW that late in the season with value anywhere close to Romo for playoff bound teams. I'm hoping he's back for week 14, and I believe if he is healthy then they won't hold him out. I'm sure Jerry wants to sell tickets and show people some promise of the following season.

dropped to pick up Stafford -- who should be top-12 and hopefully top-10 for the remainder of the year.

I couldn't hold him, needed the roster space! I really don't see him playing again this year but if for some reason he does/can, I doubt anyone picks him up anytime soon so he should be available on the ww down the line....

12 team league.

dropped him for Fitzpatrick and have Vick coming back next week, who I hope to ride to a .500 record! :|

Shark move:

1. drop him for a player with more potential

2. some other team picks him up

3. that team drops him 4 weeks from now

4. grab Romo again

I've been agonizing over this since Monday night. I'm in a 12 team league with only 14 roster spots. With bye weeks, etc not much room for dead wood. I'm strongly leaning towards cutting him loose but haven't been able to push the button yet.

In my league, I think there are enough options at QB to take some chances. Guys like Stafford and Henne got grabbed this week but I think it is more a function of a busy bye week rather than people stocking up on QB's. Fitzpatrick is still on the wire and I grabbed Kitna for this week. After that??

Traded LT for Aaron Rodgers, then dropped Romo. I'm fortunate to have SJax and Rice as adequate starters, but will miss the depth at RB.

kept him since I have Ben at qb and I am not playing anyone on the ww over him.

Also I am solid at rb/wr - with nobody on the ww likely to sniff playing time

already had 2 te/2dt

so no real reason not to hang on for now

If he was my qb on most of teams I would have dropped him

I put him in IR and picked up Stafford and Kitna. Definitely one of the best players to stash in IR if you have no injuries. If he comes back early, he might be worth it in playoffs. You never know, he was out for 4 weeks in 2008 and became relevant again when he came back. Although that wasn't a collarbone injury.

10 team redraft that can play a 2nd QB as a flex...dropped due small roster allowances. Since picked up Kitna & Fitzpatrick to go along with Freeman. Going with QBBC rest of season. If I knew I was gonna remain in the playoff hunt, I might have thought differently about dropping Romo. However, if Dallas is completely out of it, I can foresee them not rushing Romo back in 2010.

Dumped him for Stafford & Fitzpatrick. If I'd only been able to get 1 of them, I would've held onto Romo.

If in 4-5 weeks I hear he plans to play again, I'll consider picking him back up a few weeks prior.

Keep in the one I own him in. Trying to snag him off the WW now cause some guy dropped him. He's worth the try.

I really can't see any reason to keep him. I dropped him for Stafford. Best case scenario is he comes back in Week 14/15. Are you really going to trust him in the 1st or 2nd round of your playoffs. Most likely the Cowboys will be out & he will be put on IR anyway. It stunk dropping him but I think the chance he plays this year is very, very low..

Jerruh said today that it is "unlikely" that Romo will play again this year for the Cowboys......he did allow that the team's record (ie chances of making or actually getting into the playoffs could change that)(no I don't have a link it was on a sports talk show on radio as relayed by the host)

Dropped for me. Big Ben was my back-up, so I'm just rolling with him now (I dropped Romo for BMW). In redraft, doesn't seem worth it to hold on to him.

Ditto I'll roll with Stanford and Fitzpatrick and if Romo comes back for my fantasy playoffs I'll be sure to grab him off waivers. If he returns this season.

Yeah, it wouldn't make sense to bring him back to a 6-8 team, and that's an optimistic expectation given their schedule and how inept they've been thus far. Realistically, they will only have 3-4 wins when he's ready to return so he will just be shut down for the year. I've dropped him in all of the redrafts I have him in.

Dropped him for Stafford. I had to since my backup is Cutler on a bye. I have a feeling I'll be starting Stafford more often than Cutler.

What do I have to lose at this point? If I need roster space, I'll drop him. If I make the playoffs and he comes back, boom.
