Feels like a lot of conflict building right now, any thoughts on where our attention should be or if we would be better avoiding it?

Feels like a big one is coming.  We are due.  The balance of power is in a state of flux and whenever that happens a big war usually follows.  There are also have some wild cards on the world stage right now (Trump, Putin and Kim Jung-un).  Religious tensions are high as well.  I hope my radar is off but I have a bad feeling these days...

I'd share my opinion in here, but, apparently that's not allowed. Last time I tried to discuss my feelings on this issue, I got reported by GM and got a week's vacation.

Good luck to the rest of you.
Well at least we got to hear you whine like a ##### so thank god for the small things in life we can be thankful for.

North Korea does the #### they do to keep their own people in line. Last thing we need is some kind of conflict with them. None of those rocket/missile launches they try are even close to successful. Besides, any problem we have with them can be solved with a few cases of Nutella and some bourbon.

I don't believe you were suspended for simply stating your opinion. Most likely you insulted somebody or offered up an offensive remark. Simply stating opinions on issues like this don't result in suspension.

Kind of a strange poll because the questions seem so off.

  1. Are we heading towards war?
Kind of Feels like we are always at war. It never ends, really. The industrial-military complex must be fed. We're never really at war in the let's all make sacrifices and focus solely on defeating evil like in WWII kind of way, but we are not a peaceful nation. We expose freedom but we are pretty much always killing someone.
  2. Should we be heading towards any type of war?
    No, I hope not.
  3. If we were to be involved in a real conflict, where should our resources be focused?
Real like in a Velveteen rabbit kind of way? We've sustained 7K casualties combat deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001. Greater than the Phillipine-American War (immediately followed the Spanish-American War), far less than Mexican-American War. So...by "real conflict", are you thinking Top Eight all-time, say, 14K dead? FTR I think Syria is Russia's problem child and North Korea is China's brat. Bombing, cruise missiles, drone strikes - fine. Boots on the ground, no. Not even close.
  4. My feelings on our airstrikes in response to Syria using chemical weapons
I thought the response was appropriate. No need to escalate it from there. Regime change should be welcomed but not a priority.
