That was painful reading. The sad thing is that none of the participants in that 2 page debacle will understand why it was a mess.

Idk about that. One can understand looking back and learn from it.

It did remind me why I post less and less in the SP every off-season. Based on what was a shocking number of PMs I got, apparently I ran into someone who's kind of a jerk to lots of people.

When that's the case, a far better choice would be to walk away (vs what I did, which was stoop lower and be an even bigger jerk than the other guy).

Joe has a really tough job moderating that place. What's funny is the FF forum is going to eventually end up as just the FFA somehow.

Lots of it that's people are passionate about the game. And that's why I have a job.

I just ask people to be more civil than most places do. That works for some. Not so much for all others. All good.

I'd just like to say that I hoped this thread didn't become a fallout catch-all for people's problems on the board that are unrelated to the fallacy at hand or other related indirect fallacies. I specifically deleted a post last night that I posted and loved because it didn't deal with logical fallacies that were committed indirectly and implicitly. The opinion piece I posted was only about consistently evasive bad faith. I eliminated it because bad faith is not the thrust of this thread nor the transgression I'm looking to address specifically because it will become a dumping ground for everything wrong with every board everywhere. It's why I also chimed in to blunt any specific criticisms by listening but also trying to quell those specific criticisms.

And I like or love everybody that has commented about it.

I'm asking people to keep this cool as a board member and as somebody who worked two entire days to produce the OP and sort of spent an entire weekend with little sleep both writing and editing for clarity. Thanks, guys.

eta* I learned that I need a new word processor and can't really use Apple Notes. It keeps correcting stuff that I never intended as output. It's a pain. Microsoft Word is awful with Apple and takes five minutes to load and then pretty much crashes the computer, so that's out and Google Pages isn't a tenable option either. Any suggestions for a reasonably older Apple? Something better than Pages?

Somehow, a temperamental word processor seems most appropriate.
