What is everyone's thought on this guy?

Is he the real deal or just lucky to be in the situation he is in?

WEEK 1 IND 33/231/3 1/7

WEEK 2 WAS 19/69 3/69

WEEK 3 DAL 17/106 4/20

WEEK 4 OAK 17/133/1 3/56/1

WEEK 5 NYG 11/25 2/2

WEEK 6 KC 18/71/2 6/26

WEEK 7 BYE

WEEK 8 IND 15/102/1 1/9

WEEK 9 SD 27/127/2 4/70

Can he really keep up this pace with this remaining schedule?

WEEK 10 @ JAX

WEEK 11 @ NYJ

WEEK 12 TEN

WEEK 13 @ PHI

WEEK 14 BAL

WEEK 15 @ TEN

WEEK 16 @ DEN

WEEK 17 JAX

I think it's safe to say it's not luck at this point. Maybe give him a few more games? By week 16 or so I think we will know whether he is the real deal.

WEEK 10 @ JAXWEEK 11 @ NYJWEEK 12 TENWEEK 13 @ PHIWEEK 14 BALWEEK 15 @ TENWEEK 16 @ DENWEEK 17 JAX
Only game I was worried about at the start of the season was Baltimore in week 14. Not too worried about it now. We'll see how Houston does against Tennessee but his schedule looks pretty caky to me except for week 11.Can he keep it up? Heck yeah!

He's good, is a great fit for the system, and the o-line is killing it in the run game. Derrick Ward would probably be a top 5 back if Foster went down.

Was thinking of moving him based on a tougher schedule, but after last Sunday I'm not going to overthink this. There will be some games he gets stuffed, like all RB's. But if he doesn't get his in the running game, he'll get it in the passing game. And I want a RB who just bowls people over like the SD safety he jacked in the endzone on Sunday. Can't get fair value in a trade anyway. Only one I'd trade him for is Chris Johnson.

Even with that Baltimore game ... he has become an active contributor in the passing game so I don't see a huge drop off even if the running lanes close up a bit.

A tough run defense just means more dump offs from Schaub. He's 4th in the NFL amongst RBs for receiving yards (32-315-1). He can get his against anybody.

he is a fluke.reminds me of forte. :bye:
Extremely weird comparison, unless you're kidding around. Matt Forte has never even averaged 4 ypc in a season and has played his whole career behind a terrible offensive line. Foster's running at 5.5 a pop this year and his line is giving him a lot of space. As for schedule, the Chargers are the #5 rushing defense in the league, and he annihilated them.

The fact that the Chargers are #5 is a testament to Foster, I do believe they were #2 before Foster entered the building.

I expect a slight hiccup vs the Jets. And then for him to slice through the rest of the league like a hot knife through warm butter.

He can't dominate every game can he?

Foster is having an elite year... He is running with power, can catch the ball well, is a td machine and if Slaton's as rookie in 2008 can put up.....

-268 carries for 1282 yards and 9 td's

50 receptions for 377 yards and 1 td

1659 total yards and 10 td's

We are witnessing what a good RB can do in this system. Houston's run blocking has been ridiculously good and Foster has shown that he is capable of playing at an elite level. The only small concern would be how good is Tate, and what will his role be once he returns next season.

LOL!If there are any Foster owners out there that want to trade him to me consider me interested. Jets Schmets. What I am hoping for is a hiccup in week 14 to eliminate him from my playoffs. Help me Obiwan you are my only hope...

So according to everyone here he should be the best running back in the league hands down? For some unknown reason i just cant buy it. He is a decent running back but 8 games doesnt define a career. We see one hit wonders all the time so what makes Foster any different?

I see you're stuck in stage 2. You'd better move on to stage 3 before the trade deadline in your league.

So when does he hit the rookie wall? Just in time for fantasy playoffs?

(Ok, not technically a rookie this year, but his first season with a full load)

I haven't watched him as much as many here, but from what I saw, he doesn't seem to take big hits. He looks like one of those guys who has the innate ability to wiggle away from solid contact. I wonder if maybe he'll hold up b/c of that... Again, I don't claim to have seen the majority of his touches, but that's been my observation.

Because if you watch him, you see just how easy he is making every single play look.I haven't seen a guy that has made every single play look so easy since Terrell Davis. To me, its very similar. It's like every single play seemingly end up 8 yards, 12 yards, catch for 9 yards. Its just HUGE production.

I'd disagree. Foster has an upright running style that will attract big hits sooner or later. His college days were littered with injuries. Nobody can predict injuries, but don't fool yourself that he's not susceptible. Handcuffing with Ward is a smart idea.

He reminds me of Larry Johnson more than anyone. I think he is faster, but not as powerful. But he is definitely benefitting from the system like LJ did.

:goodposting:I agree. He's a smoother, less powerful version of LJ.

The whole rookie wall thing is based on the fact that between college, workouts, the draft, offseason program, training camp, and the longer NFL season--rookies basically play two straight years of football without a break and it catches up with them towards the end of the NFL season. None of those issues exist here. As for first season with a full load, every great running back has one of those. Foster is making it look pretty easy out there and he's young. I don't see him wearing down.
