Arizona Homers - what's the word on Fitz? (1 Viewer)

Dec 20 Fitzgerald (groin) did even less work during Thursday's practice than he did on Wednesday, but he is still expected to play on Sunday, the Arizona Republic reports.

Recommendation: Fitzgerald wasn't very active on Wednesday, merely jogging through a few routes, so he must have been very limited on Thursday. Fellow starting wideout Anquan Boldin (toe) is handling a heavy practice workload, so Fitzgerald could play a reduced role on Sunday.

It's a groin injury - won't be gone until he rests it for some time - BUT he played last week and will play this week
Tough call with him if you have a solid backup option. While he did have the TD last week, he wasn't involved in the game at all in the second half. Will be interesting to hear the report from practice today.

With his injured groin and the fact the Cards are playing the Falcons this week, I'm choosing to sit Fitzgerald. In a high scoring affair last week he only had 3 targets and could have about the same this week. I see the Cards running the ball down Atlanta's throat and once they go up early he will most likely sit. I'd rather start a guy like Anthony Gonzo or Calvin Johnson because at least I know they are healthy and will play the whole game....

thoughts?

I'm not an Arizona homer nor do I know the extent of Fitzgerald's injured groin....

however, I am starting him AGAIN. He has been money...would love to see him close out the year in style.

Why does this happen during the championships? I will be on a plane tomorrow for the games...do you think it is safe to play Fitz? My other options are Gonzales and Steve Smith. I think he plays though.

he's going to play that's not the question--The question is how many targets is her going to see? If you have another option don't hesitate to go with it because you aren't getting much from him tomorrow

I am leaning towards Engram over Fitz to go along with TJ Housh at WR and along w/ Welker as my flex. Would love to start Fitz but the uncertainty of of the extent of his injury, the comments in this thread and the three targets last week are very concerning.

Rovers Posted Today, 04:33 PM Boldin likely will draw Hall in coverage, no? Will that help a limited Fitz?
I would think that Hall will cover Fitz. This is another reason to consider sitting him if you have a decent replacement. I am thinking of going with Steve Smith instead, but need to decide by tonight. I really think Smith has one more good game in him, but it is hard to put Fitz on the bench.
