Arizona Passing Game (1 Viewer)

Lets face it, camp reports are largely meaningless, especially for QB, as no one is allowed to touch them. Let's see what happens when the pressure starts coming. Oh, that's right, we have seen that. What was it? Kolb was 5 for 10 for 24 yards and was sacked twice.
I agree with this. But after last year's camp, everyone in AZ is just looking for positive signs. Last year's camp was a complete disaster. This year there appears to be a much better vibe and more camaraderie with the players. Kolb has fit right in with the team, and Fitz seems to like him. That's a pretty big deal here in the desert.

The Cards allowed 50 sacks last year, and Kolb cannot handle getting hit. That's a recipe for disaster.

I genuinely think Kolb (while upright) will drive Fitzgerald back into top 3-5 status, no worries there. But beyond that? You have to like what Arizona did on the interior, re-signing Lyle S at center and adding Colledge and Pork Chop (while also re-upping Lutui in spite of trying to let him leave before he failed a physical elsewhere). But as MOP suggested, those tackles HAVE to have people concerned.

Remember that the TE position was upgraded big time with Heap and King also. So while there are still holes, and the line is still not stellar, it is probably the best line we've had in the last five years. And Warner put up some pretty good numbers behind a suspect line so we know it's possible.

After Vick took over and then got injured, Andy Reid explicitly said that Vick was the starter when he came back. Outside of an absolutely amazing showing by Kolb, he did not have a second opportunity to win the job. Vick had already claimed the job by virtue of his great play.
Games 4-722of35 201 yrds 1 TD 1 INT21of31 253 yrds 1 TD 0 INT23of29 326 yrds 3 TD 1 INT26of48 231 yrds 1 TD 2 INTI only see 1 great game there, and the eagles won 2 of those 4 games. Forgive me if I'm puzzled by you "absolutely amazing showing by Kolb" comment...And are you suggesting that if Kolb had won those 4 games and actually did perform as you describe statistically ("absolutely amazing"), that he wouldn't have had a shot at the starting job?Kolb was only worth starting in 1 of the 6 games he played in last season. Good luck with that as your QB1...

doucet's propensity for injury - 6 or more games missed each season - doesn't help him one bit.
Doucet has exhibited way more talent than Roberts IMHO.
:goodposting: me.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday that he has been "very impressed" by Early Doucet so far in camp.
And Kent Somers just posted this:
Andre Roberts leads the competition for the No. 2 receiver job, but Early Doucet will contend if he’s stays healthy. Roberts looked awful early last year, his rookie season, but improved greatly and was reliable by the end of the season.

Doucet has been hampered by injuries in each of his previous three seasons. The No. 2 designation isn’t all that important anyway, according to coach Ken Whisenhunt. The Cardinals run a lot of multireceiver sets and have different plays for different players. There really isn’t a true No. 2 designation, the coach said.
linkThis thing is going to ebb and flow, but right now Roberts is in the lead.

I hear Doucet hype every preseason now, he's one of those guys where I have to see it on the field during the regular season to believe it. Another guy that fits that bill is M. Bennett for the Cowboys, SHOW ME.

Without Braylon, I don't quite have Kolb in that group anymore. Back down with Stafford, Cutler, and Flacco.
I dont see him contending with a healthy Stafford or Flacco. Cutler has issues in his head so I can see them at this point. Kolb has to show more than a couple games, but once again writers have to pump someone.

with adrian wilson out for the season, az will be playing catch up more. ...just speculating on the length of Wilson's injury, but initial reports are not good...
You should be ashamed of yourself for BS speculation - Wilson says he will be ready for Week 1.....Whiz says it will depend on how the rehab goes. Adrian Wilson is a tough dude and the injury may be painful but won't prevent him playing if he can - years ago John Elway played a whole season with the same injury on his throwing arm!

I already liked Kolb in Arizona, but Heap and Edwards would firmly lodge him in the tier after the top 7. Might be a mini-tier in there with Roethlisberger and Schaub, but I would have no problem putting Kolb in the Ryan/Eli/Freeman group.
Good luck with that. Anyone drafting Kolb on par with any of the guys you've named above should have their head examined..
Where do you rank him, then? While he have a small sample size for Kolb, he's been pretty good, and is now entrenched as a starter, not a backup who might or might not play. I could buy an argument putting him with, say, Cutler/Flacco/Stafford, but can't picture him anywhere below that.
Kolb is NOT a starting QB in a twelve team league

...............might he be next year if he proves himself over a whole season - sure, but for redraft leagues I am not sure I would even draft him as a bye week sub - maybe depends on the schedule that week. I could see him drafted as part of a QBBC and he might well emerge as the clear starter from a group of three - otoh let's remember he has to learn a brand new system, new terminology, and work with new players and coaches.
barring injury, kolb will finish in the top 12 at QB.
Have no idea why or how you'd make that prediction.. This is just wishful thinking methinks..

No way he out scores these guys:

Michael Vick

Aaron Rodgers

Philip Rivers

Tom Brady

Peyton Manning

Drew Brees

Tony Romo

Matt Ryan

Matt Schaub

Josh Freeman

Ben Roethlisberger

Eli Manning

MAYBE, he falls into this group.. BIG MAYBE..

Sam Bradford

Jay Cutler

Matthew Stafford

Joe Flacco

More likely he lands in here:

Tim Tebow

Kevin Kolb

Mark Sanchez

Matt Cassel

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Jason Campbell

Colt McCoy

Top 12 prediction doesn't make much sense, and is pretty much a baseless prediction.
I'd pick Kolb over Stafford and Flacco...

my money is on the more talented Doucet to eventually take over.
While I believe both Doucet and Roberts are talented, I'm going to bet Roberts comes out on top here, at least in the short term. I think they will both get plenty of looks early on, but eventually Roberts consistent production will win out. Doucet is more effective in the redzone so TD totals may be similar, but I would speculate Roberts outpaces Doucet in catches and yards in 2011.

From what I continue hearing, these guys will split time. So is it safe to say that none of these guys should be targeted as a potential breakout player? Neither of them top 20-30 PPR upside in redraft?

Listened to an interview on local sports radio with the Cards WR coach yesterday on my commute home. He was asked about each of his guys one by one. He didn't stop raving about Roberts and how this year's camp is like night & day for him vs. last year, he's only dropped one ball all camp and how generally excited he was for him. The topic changed to Doucet and he basically said Early's a "great locker room guy".

I didn't hear that interview, but I have heard similar things on other shows. Everyone is raving about Roberts right now. IMO, Fitz and Heap will be the only receivers worth drafting this year anyway.

kiss of death there.
