As far as the Eagles (1 Viewer)

this offseason? Do they hit Free Ageny hard and get the playmakers the team is calling for? Who do you see as realistic options?

Or do they move McNabb now?

Give me some encouragement! :excited:

Honestly, if McNabb stays, they got him for maybe 10 games, they don't make the playoffs. If McNabb leaves, they start Feely or Kolb, they lose. Doesnt' look like a good year to be an Eagles fan imho. Not sure if it is just me or not, but I think they might want to start looking for a new head coach.

I think it's just you. I don't like the Eagles but they showed a lot at the end of the year. They have a relatively young and underrated defense coming back next year. If McNabb can stay healthy and they can add a deep threat at wr, their offense should be back. I see no reason at all why they shouldn't be contending for the playoffs next year. The only thing that will hurt them is their very tough division.

There is ALOT banking on those "if's". IF McNabb stays healthy, IF they get a deep threat. It has been 3 years since he played a full season, and him playing in 14 games last year didnt' get them to the playoffs. I just think their division is too tough and they will be on the outside looking in again.

I disagree, Im a Dolphins fan but live in the philadelphia area. I think with the stretch they had last season and some improvements from FA/Draft they can have a very good season. They def need to improve some of the defense(d-line/cb/s) and on the offensive side they have to get a WR(J. Walker seems fitting). However after TO experiment they might go with a B. Johnson type move.....Lets not forget that D. Mcnabb was coming back from a big time injury last season and not till the end of the year did he look himself. With that stride and a full offseason of being healthy, I look for the eagles of old to resurface and possible division crown not out of reach.....

They really need a safety opposite Dawkins(considine is average at best) and a pass rusher opposite Cole. Hopefully they aren't counting on Kearse to make much of an impact.

I think Philly can get a wildcard, but they probably wouldn't make much noise in the playoffs. 10-6 seems possible.

I see them losing to the Giants. Again.

jk - Giants fan here.

It seems to be the same refrain. If two VERY possible things happen (and they stay healthy), the team could be as good as most any team in the NFC. Those two things:

(1) McNabb has to play very well (better than just well). Certainly possible.

(2) They MUST get someone for McNabb to throw to. Same thing every freakin' year except for the whole Owens debacle. Why McNabb has had almost his entire career with NO one to throw to just makes no sense to me.

Reggie Brown disappeared this year. I think Curtis and Stallworth would have an awesome combo for McNabb to throw to.

There's already an offseason thread for the Eagles......

LINK

Please post in there.

There's also every team's offseason thread linked here.

If one is missing, start one and add it to that thread.

Thanks.

Aside from losing to the Giants again... lol another giants fan here.

Honestly... everybody is so hard on mcnabb... when in reality the only thing this team needs to do offensively is GET THIS GUY HELP, QUICK! McNabb is a great QB... what is it 4 consecutive NFC Championships... everybody got a glimpse of what he can do with a playmaking receiver.. but we all know how that turned out. If they made a play for chad johnson... they'd contenders... but bc of salary cap reasons... that's a slim to none chance... perhaps berrian (a poor man's #1)... i don't know... Greg lewis just isn't cutting it anymore, and really never was.

You really can't go that far with your RB being your #1 receiver... granted westbrook has great hands... but he is a RB... he supposed to be running.. and for all the westbrook owners that are satisfied with his stats... just imagine how great he'd be without having to face 8 in the box at all times.

Dear Loyal Fan

The Eagles are Fine @ QB. The Eagles are fine @ RB. The Eagles are fine @ WR. The Eagles are fine @ TE. The Eagles are fine @ K. The Eagles are fine @ P. The Eagles are fine @ DT. The Eagles are fine @ DE. The Eagles are fine @ LB. The Eagles are fine @ CB. The Eagles are fine @ S. The Eagles are fine @ being in the NFC East cellar.

With Love

:goodposting:I think their window (at least as built around McNabb and probably Westy) essentially closes after this year. After that it's Kolb and Co., and we'll see how well Reid does post-DMac. They're still playing in a tough division in 2008, but their 4th place finish will help them some. It really comes down to McNabb and Westy - if they're healthy all year, this is easily a playoff team. If not, well . . . :lmao: I do have to question whether this franchise, given it's relatively conservative personnel history, will go out and spend $$ on a veteran FA WR knowing that DMac likely only has one more year with the team.

Overpaying for an average TE.
ehh.. not really.. the franchise on a TE isn't that much... they aren't very high paid at that position so the average wasn't too bad... i think L.J is worth the tag honestly.. the only reason he's worth it is because the eagles don't really have any players hitting FA this year that are worthy of the tag... it made sense in my book.at least they didnt tag the kicker.

you need to go back and look at the contracts Graham and Shiancoe signed last year. Then come back and tell me the Eagles overpaid...ridiculous statementno guaranteed money in that contract outside of the one year. No incentives. Nothing to lose franchising him IMO
