Assani's Poker Thread (8 Viewers)

Assani, I enjoy reading your MTT recaps. One question, is there a particular reason why you play mostly Pokerstars? Is the tourny action better than FullTilt?
I'm not a fan of the way FT does business. Their customer service sucks. I think we'd be better off with them out of business.

out in 3rd. This guy was one of the worst PLO8 tourney players I've ever played against btw, which definitely factored in my play here

My friend BobboFitos has asked me to start blogging on LeggoPoker. I may even make some PLO8 videos for them, but I'm not sure yet. I'll still post here for sure since I like posting casual updates and talking with you all. But if you get a chance, read my blogs there as well....would love to get as many views and comments as possible(sounds like a dumb goal, but with all of the money in poker coaching it can make a huge difference if I have a lot of readers). Heres a link to it:

I just posted my first blog now.

Made a deposit this week at Stars, and I noticed for the first time (Not too sure how long this has happened) on my CC account, I am now charged a fee for a cash advance along with the deposit....

Anyone else notice this???

Really? That sucks.Next time, just contact one of us--write us a check and we'll ship you what you need.

Oh ok...yeah its dead...just too much work. Going to be going to Commerce for the LAPC next week.
Serious question: Do you feel like this is kind of taking the easy/lazy way out by forgoing grinding to chase a big score like everyone else? And if poker's supposed to be a job, shouldn't the "work" part of it not be a problem?FE_21's method seems to work pretty well.

I think I was unclear: I'm just playing cash games out here at Commerce. Not playing any tourney, so not chasing a big score. I think Eddie would admit that he only uses his "method" because hes only truly proficient at online ring games, and not because its optimal. I don't say that as a slight to him(in fact, hes GREAT at online 6 max games), but I definitely think that its better to be able to mix in onilne ring games, live ring games, and tournaments as I do.

I agree on mixing things up, but the impression I get from saying that playing online is "too much work" is a function of laziness. If you have a hard time "getting up" to play poker, maybe it's not the best career decision?

I think he meant that achieving super nova elite was too much work, not playing online in general

Horrible call by him there, no? Maybe your T9o image from earlier earned you that call?

You can put a button AI in that spot on a pretty big range, esp. if AF's shown down a worse hand previously. I think it's actually a pretty good call, and the type of call I find myself struggling to make sometimes.

its a tough call only because his stack would be hurt so much if he loses. However, I don't think theres anything wrong with it.

For the TT hand, I know 3bet flop, bet-call the flop is the standard way to play, especially for an online 6max or FR game, but I don't like it in a live full ring game. The problem I see with it is every flop sucks with TT as the 884 flop is the best flop you can see (without flopping a set of course) and you're turning you hand into bluff along with pot committing yourself. A hand like AJ+ or QK is much better than TT here because you'll have much more equity when you're cbet doesn't win the pot.

Playing TT to basically set mine seems really weak, but going to a 4 way flop with great relative position on the PFF and in position vs the fish isn't too bad.

I love that stars has dropped the required vpps needed to achieve different levels. It makes it easier for us family guys
