At 3-3, Stand Pat? (1 Viewer)

In a standard 12-team, sit as the 4th highest scoring team whose 3 losses all came to the 3 teams in front of me in TP--who also happen to be in my division. In those 3 losses, the teams happened to be the week's top-scorer. My biggest issues thus far has been QB as I rolled with Eli for first 4 weeks, of course I sat him this week for Alex Smith, but luckily got the W to get back to .500. The other problem has been WR with Dez's early struggles and injury and Matthews/Landry being average. The question is, do I stand pat with this team, or try to upgrade at QB/WR? Here is my roster:

QB - Eli, Alex Smith

RB - David Johnson, CJA, Melvin Gordon, TJ Yeldon, Andre Ellington

WR - Dez Bryant, Jarvis Landry, Jordan Matthews, Cam Meredith

TE - Kelce, Eifert, Jesse James (who I'll be dropping this week for possibly Knile Davis, Kenneth Dixon, Kenny Britt or Kendall Wright)

DST-Seattle

PK - Josh Lambo

At this point, what I thought would be a point of strength, RB, is not so much due to CJA's struggles and my league is full of sharks who I'm not sure will buy high on Gordon. I'm beginning to think my best option might be trading Johnson for 2 top-notch players. My game this is very winnable, and there's always hope Dez comes back in week 8 as himself. Eifert coming back would be huge too. Just too bad i can't move him or Kelce to a TE-needy team.

What would you do?

Sorry for the bump but would love some opinions. I thought I would add that one of the teams in my division who is among this pack of the top 3 scoring teams is loaded at WR--Evans, Antonio Brown and AJ Green. He hit paydirt on Christine Michael (he has Rawls), plus has Riddick and Ajayi. It would seem he's a logical trade partner, but something tells me he'd be greedy and want Johnson as part of any deal for his WR's,

Is this PPR?  Probably not as Landry is really good there.  I don't think your WR are that bad.

Two main issues: 1. Dez being out, you are getting no production from your best WR.  He should be back shortly that should give you a boost.

2.  Do you trust Eli?

The good news is you have D. Johnson.  The bad news is if you upgrade to some of the names you mentioned you are going to have to trade him.  I wouldn't do it he is just too good right now.  The exception would be if Dez cannot come back then you may be forced to trade if you can get a good deal.  You'll have to see how it goes.

I'd look at maybe trading CJA for Stafford plus something back?  Not an Alex Smith Fan and I think you need another option in case Eli goes south again. Other possibilities might be someone like Mariota.

I'd also start looking at when you play these top teams again, you may want to target someone who has a good matchup to try and win those weeks.

Here's mine, thx.  Kind of in a similar situation.
