Norwood -- 62 yds TD!

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanm.

How did he look -- that game ain't on here.

I think Norwood is the real deal. He made one cut and took it to the house for 62 yards. I have to believe that the Falcons are going to use him quite a bit this season.

Of course, lately the Titans have made all RBs look good, but man that guy is fast.

Edit to add: it was up the gut and one cut, fyi.

Norwood took it up the middle, cut left, cut right, gone.

And before all the "he looks like a WR comments", he looks like a RB to me.

Vick has looked good. Crumpler almost caught a TD pass. But Vick has been accurate. Jenkins 4+ targets, white hasn't done anything yet.

Volek looks shaky. Looks for Bennett quite a bit. Henry looked decent. Brown in now.

Hi NoFB,He looked great. Not good but great. He's scary fast. I was casually watching it while working on the Email Update and I thought it was about a 30 yard run. It was over that fast. That's the kind of speed he has.Even more imprissive though was his run later in the game at the goalline. They were on about the 8 or so and he took the run up the middle and was stuffed. He kept his legs driving and bulled his way free for about 7 yards almost scoring. Eddie George is doing the game and was going wild. VERY impressive.I'm not saying he'll over take Dunn right now but he looked very good tonight. Not at all afraid to be physical and take contact. He definitely looks to be in a great position for down the road.J

Thanks Joe! I said this kid packs a whallop (sp?). He was a much tougher runner than given credit for. I'm still sort of wondering what Rang was talking about when he said Norwood didn't break many tackles. That's all I ever saw him do-- everything on his own-- tough kid.TJ Duckett = Chased out of townWarrick Dunn = 3rd Down back soon :banned:

WOWJust got home from a 12 team 19 round keeper draft and took him with one of my last picks. This is the kind of news I like to come home to! Thanks JB

FWIW, Ben Troupe going off for Tennessee in 2 minute offense at end of half with Volek. Had about a 45 yard reception nullified by penalty. Next play was a 20 yard reception. Next play was a 10 yard reception.

I had the same thought a few weeks ago when Norwood took those receptions for 30 and 35 yards. I thought they were only about 15-20 yard gains since it all happened so fast. The guy can move. They need to start zooming the camera out more when he has the ball.

why was Chris Brown pulled so early?
I believe the Titans had indicated that T. Henry would be featured this week. I think they know what they have in Brown and they wanted to keep him healthy. I think they are trying to figure out where Henry fits in.FWIW... as bad as that o-line has looked this preseason, it's not going to matter a whole lot who's back there, but C. Brown has been able to put together 2 good games by making something from nothing. Also, if this Defense doesn't improve the Titans are going to be airing it out a whole lot due to being behind early and often. I hope this changes, but these are my observations this preseason about the TN running game.

As both a Dunn and Norwood owner I must say I'm intrigued to say the least. Norwood is certainly pushing for time and Dunn, if he has anything left, will certainly have to show it to keep his job.

Norwood owners (including me) have to take a reality check here. Even though he will definitely see some carries, this is Dunn's offense. And since Dunn is under contract through 2008, something has got to give for Norwood to climb to the top of the depth chart by next season. It's going to be frustrating waiting for him to get his chance, I'm afraid.

I have to say that Young is not looking too bad. He seems to know when to pull it down and run instead of throwing an ill advised pass.

Receivers aren't getting open soon enough.

Titan's just have not played well at all. They have serious issues on O-line.

LenDale White was ok but not impressive at all. The thought I had watching him was "Ron Dayne". Looked slow. Strong enough. And got a short first down when he needed to. But not impressive.

J

 Norwood speed kills he looks faster though in the limited action I have seen. He is definitely swift worthy of big play potential

Norwood to me looks like a poor man's Reggie Bush. Which is somewhat interesting because I keep saying the question with Bush is "Will he be the next Gale Sayers or will he be the next Warrick Dunn?"

Similar games there with all three.

I think the thing that will surprise about Norwood (and Bush) is them not being shy about sticking their nose in there for contact. Neither are scat back types.

I agree. It looks like he's running in place like a Scooby-doo cartoon. I don't think he has done anything to supplant T. Henry for playing time. It may change when the Titans record goes south this year, but for now he wont play much imo.

I've been making the Bush comparisons for awhile. I'm still looking at Norwood as a long term prospect, but the future definatly looks bright.

Vick has not looked accurate at all. A few have been behind his receivers, a few have been overthrown and a couple have been thrown where only the defender can make a play on the ball.

Just got back from the game: Young looked horrible, still seems to be making panicky, poor decisions. Titans Def should be ranked 33 - they simply do not seem interest in defending the rollout. Play calling was horrible as well - but I realize a good deal of that is discounted by preseason. Still, when it's 2nd and ten with ten seconds left, you'd like to see them take a shot when they're down by a couple of touchdowns. As many have already said, Norwood looked very impressive - guy just looked hungry.

Bottom line:

Interior O Line (guards, not Mawae) and Defensive scheme both stink.

I think the Def players are ok, actually. It is the scheme and alignments that are horrible.

Coach's decision to fake a punt on the short field just before halftime was a horrible decision, too.

Who's kicking FGs and PATs for Atlanta, Yelk or Koenen? whoever wins this job is in a good spot, in a dome, on a good offensive team in a division where games end up 13-9. either kicker would fly under the radar in most leagues and represent good value as a backup PK. I hope it's Koenen, he was lights out in the first few games...

Vick looked sharp, half the incompletions were catchable balls that were dropped. His decision making looked better as well.

Do not blame the receivers for those turds he was throwing.

I feel confident in saying that Schwartz, the D Coordinator, will not be back next year -- it will be either Jerry Gray, Dave McGinnis, or a way outside chance of Greg Williams.

Floyd Reese won't be back as GM. I don't know who will fill that spot.

Jeff Fisher will be back.

Norm Chow...hard to say.

The D coordinator is just awful. He just outsmarts himself and ends up having our guys in horrible schemes, alignments, and teaches faulty reads. Bad.

I thought that Troupe definitely looked the most impressive player on the Titans. Volek did look shaky at first but then got it together. He'll be inconsistent but good in patches. But troupe just looked like an animal out there, breaking tackles after the catch, keeping his feet moving for more yac, running crispe routes, and catching everything thrown his way. I was very, VERY impressed with his play. So much so that he he is now inching up to about TE7 on my sheets.Norwood looked, as Joe said, nothing short of great. He saw plenty of action against the first team D and shredded them, inside and outside. He looked as confident and effective an inside runner as you can look. Someone pointed out just how horrible those Missy State teams he played with were, and playing with a decent o-line has shown what a truly great back he is. What really surprised me was how much bigger he looked. He's no Jamal Lewis but he looks much stronger and faster. For dynasty I would move him past both Addai and White at this point.

Here's what I want to know. Was the Titans starting D on the field? Was Bullock playing? If so, then I'm a thrilled Norwood owner!
It was actually Bulluck that he ankle broke with his first cut on the 62-yard run  . Impressed now? Norwood saw plenty of action against the first team. I think Dunn was only in for two series.
