My buddy and I were planning a trip to a remote area of central Nevada for some camping, hot springing and tons of trail riding on rented ATVs. My buddy owns an ATV and is an experienced rider. I am not. I've spent maybe 10 hours in my life driving one. Anyway, my friend is going to be unable to make it, but I still want to go.
So the question I pose to you all is whether or not I should tackle this trip by myself. I pick up the ATV in Reno and drive a couple hundred miles east to an isolated campground, park my truck and hop on the 4-wheeler. There is no cell service close by, the nearest small town is about 50 miles from where I'd be camping. There will be very few if any other people out there. I am an experienced camper and have driven thousands of miles on all types of trails and backroads, but always in a Jeep or truck. I know my limits and am not prone to doing anything stupid, but #### happens and intoxicants willprobably be consumed.
What say you FBG? Bad idea or should I quit being a ##### and go tear it up?
