Benched him in my standard league and starting him in my ppr league. He has a nicer floor in ppr.
I’ve noticed that quite a few weeks he starts slow in 1st Q but usually ends up fine

He's the beastliest 3 year old evah. That's about 77 years. I'm actually ok if he has A drink for his 80th birthday.
No lie. He’s been robbed of two TDs already this seasonThis guy looks like a really good baller to me if the refs would let him score.
You made a good call. The refs made a bad one.Held him for weeks to play tonight and get this. Ugh
That's true to some extent but before last night he was getting a healthy number of targets each week. He was locked into 4-5 receptions per game because McCown was feeding him. If the game had stayed close last night that likely would've happened again. Officially, he had only two targets but the TD catch that should've counted was a third and he had another catch taken away by penalty. So that's four when the game was competitive. If the game doesn't get out of hand in the second half I think he would've gotten another 3-4 targets and likely ended up with his usual 4-6 receptions. He seems to be highly TD dependent though. Very low yards per reception.
Yep, he actually caught 4 balls for 46 yards and a TD. The 20-yard TD was ridiculously called PI. He also had a 6-yd catch negated by a defensive penalty, which I thought was strange at the time ... it was 3rd-and-2, the play resulted in a 6-yard gain for the first down, yet they accepted a 5-yard penalty? Why?packersfan said:Officially, he had only two targets but the TD catch that should've counted was a third and he had another catch taken away by penalty. Taking the penalty stopped the clock otherwise if they took the play they would've had to use a timeout. I didn't get it at first either but it makes sense. Sucks for ASJ owners but it makes sense.Yep, he actually caught 4 balls for 46 yards and a TD. The 20-yard TD was ridiculously called PI. So in my league, a 4-point game could have easily been a 14.6-point game. Not to mention the fact that I streamed McCown to cover for Brady's bye this week, so losing those two passes cost me another 7.3 points for a total of 17.9 points. Hope it doesn't bite me in the butt.
Tomlinson is the blocking TE, which IMO is indicative of game script here. Plus they were having success running the ball.Just another note... the last game Eric Tomlinson out-snapped ASJ 45-44, which hurts his floor. Before you knew ASJ was a target hog but with this development, the rise of Robby Anderson and the renewed run game, ASJ is dropping into low TE1-high TE2 territory. Yes, he had 2 TDs robbed of him but he's going to get RZ looks; it's the days of him leading the Jets in targets that seem done.
Tampa is surprisingly good against opposing TE’s.
TB gets Brent Grimes back which could funnel targets his way, but in the run 'n shoot variation the Jets are running he's getting alot of bad luck so far lately, plus he's not playing an abnormally large amount of snaps anymore (expected since the other TEs are healthy now). The most receiving yards by a TE against the Buccaneers this season is 62, and they have allowed only three tight ends to reach double-digit fantasy points. They have allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing TEs this season, and ASJ is averaging 6.7 yards per catch, the lowest rate among qualified TEs.
It was the right call - not robbed. He did the robbing of his team and fantasy owners by dropping a gimme TD in the first half. That one was brutal. For the third time this year I watched this guy get robbed of a TD. Frustrating.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins corralled two-of-seven targets for 27 yards Sunday in the Jets’ Week 12 loss to the Panthers.
Seferian-Jenkins may not sleep well tonight. ASJ had his paws on what should have been a 13-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but let it fall through his fingertips. That was his first drop of the season. Later it appeared Seferian-Jenkins had scored a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter but replay showed that he may have bobbled it, which resulted in the play being overturned. It’s the second time this year ASJ has been stripped of a touchdown on review following a similar play versus the Patriots in Week 6. He’s now been held under 30 yards in five of his last six games and hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 7. Seferian-Jenkins will try to put Sunday’s disappointment behind him next week against Kansas City.
Not sure what you saw but it was clearly not under his control at one point. That wasn't even close to the right call. Come on now... I watched the game and there was no clear overwhelming evidence that wasn't a TD. His hands were on the football with control the whole time. The ball moves up after he slid a few feet because his hands moved up.
I guess if he learned to catch, it wouldn't keep being an issue.I was under the impression that overturns had to be made if there was clear and irrefutable evidence to support it. There is no way that's happened with ASJ three separate times now. If you want to argue that technically the rule was applied properly or what have you then the call on the field should've been an incomplete pass. I'm sorry you can't call that a TD and say the only way you'll overturn it is if there is clear and irrefutable evidence and then overturn without meeting that criteria.
It's just remarkable how this has now happened to him so many times.
Same with the TD taken away against the PatsI saw TD all the way...as well!
Had a third TD taken away from him on a completely ridiculous PI call vs. the Bills.Same with the TD taken away against the Pats
It funny because you saw the reffing crew in the GB/PIT game call that sideline catch on Antonio Brown the complete opposite of what's been happening with ASJ. The refs literally looked at each other for 7 seconds and said "Eff it it's a catch" and on replay let it stand. With ASJ he's had balls that looked like obvious TDs get overturned with no clear and convincing evidence. What makes it worse is the call in the Bills game I mentioned in the game thread and that he's dropped 2 TDs this year. I guess the goods thing is at least he's handling it professionally (the Pats game he understandably lost it).Had a third TD taken away from him on a completely ridiculous PI call vs. the Bills.
It's like he's cursed.
This is what slays me. You just cannot say yesterday's play and the Patriots' play had clear and convincing evidence on replay to overturn the calls on the field. It simply isn't true. And in both cases, the Jets' potential to win was significantly impacted. The NFL has got to figure this out. You can't put in a rule and then blatantly ignore them numerous times over.It funny because you saw the reffing crew in the GB/PIT game call that sideline catch on Antonio Brown the complete opposite of what's been happening with ASJ. One of the 3 I’m counting was a ticky tack penalty call that didn’t affect anything about the play. Long pass he caught in the endzone.I was under the impression that overturns had to be made if there was clear and irrefutable evidence to support it. Buffalo. Absolute joke of a PI call against him. He barely touched the guy. That's 3 TDs he should have had that the refs took from him this season. One of the 3 I’m counting was a ticky tack penalty call that didn’t affect anything about the play. Long pass he caught in the endzone.
Can’t remember who it was against.
The Athletic's Connor Hughes reports the Jets "haven't budged" from their initial two-year, $8 million offer to free agent Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
Seferian-Jenkins has already turned down the offer, meaning he is certain to hit the market later today. The tight end averaged an inefficient 7.1 yards per catch in 2017, but he is still just 25, has his life off the field in order, and has the talent to take a big step forward. It would not be surprising if he does better than the Jets' offer on the open market. The Falcons are reportedly "very interested."

I am not optimistic if he stays in NY so change would be good. But it all depends on whether he goes somewhere as the #1 TE or not.So I am hoping to see this guy take another step forward. I was thinking staying as the #1 in NY would be the most logical way to do that, particularly if the Jets can get a good starting QB. But the Falcons seem like a terrible fit for fantasy unless he completely takes Hooper out of the picture. IDK maybe Falcons would be a good spot? Anyone?
NFL.com's Mike Garofolo reports the Saints are interested in free agent Austin Seferian-Jenkins after missing out on Jimmy Graham.
The Saints have a huge hole at tight end, and ASJ is arguably the best one remaining. Perhaps they will also put in a call to Tyler Eifert. ASJ is a strange case, as he displayed sure hands in his comeback 2017 but offered nothing after the catch.

Free agent Austin Seferian-Jenkins is visiting the Seahawks.
ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Jaguars will also host ASJ on a visit. Seferian-Jenkins was born and raised in Washington and played his college ball for the Huskies. After losing Jimmy Graham to the Packers and Luke Willson also a free agent, tight end is a huge need for the Seahawks. The Falcons and Saints have also been linked to Seferian-Jenkins this week.

No one really knows because Marcedes Lewis has been there since 1995...or at least it feels that way...This is not great news. When has a Jags TE been a top TE?
When have the Jags had a TE with any level of talent that stayed on the field at all? This is not great news. When has a Jags TE been a top TE?
