Kid wants one, anyone have experience with them?

Does your kid play minecraft?

I play minecraft with my kids(4&6 years old) and they just added them as the new mob in the last release. That is the only reason I think a kid would want one.

The temperature seems like it could be a deal breaker, I imagine even in Detroit you do not keep your house at 70 degrees in the summer time.

They sure look cool. Personally Ill never have another aquarium unless Im paying somebody else to clean and maintain.

I looked into getting one several years ago but decided against it. The temperature thing was a big problem -- their ideal temperature range is 60-64F, and good aquarium chillers are expensive. The other thing was that they aren't very active. Since they're nocturnal they spend most of the day just kinda sitting there, so spending a bunch on a tank setup didn't seem worth it.

Hopefully he forgets about it.  I was day drinking in the pool and he asked for one and I said “sure, for your birthday “ because I don’t know what the hell else to get him

but my quick research says they poop a lot and will probably die if I don’t keep its water at 65 degrees
