Backyard Ice Rink with LEDs Under the Ice (1 Viewer)

I don't get the circles/loops at the blueline...is that offsides or not??

Yea...Minnesota, where it starts snowing in August. I would assume there are a good amount of backyard rinks here. But this one is pretty cool

I grew up in eastern PA.  Played a good amount of roller hockey and some ice hockey growing up.  Thought I was pretty "good" (definitely one of the better roller hockey players in the area).

Went to college in MN. Was in very good shape.  Played intramural ice hockey with and against the same guys I could outplay in football/basketball/etc. Thought it wouldn't be a problem to hang with them on the ice.  I was dead wrong. Was easily one of the worst players in the league and most of it was due to the fact I would just get out-skated.

It's like people in MN are born with ice skates on their feet.  But I guess the six months of ice in your backyard helps.

And to think you libtards still believe in global warming.
JFC...I guess it is a requirement for every thread now to head down this path.

I live on a lake in Ohio, and each year my neighbor clears away some snow to create a rink out on the lake.  I am not an ice skater myself, but it is pretty cool.   He has a huge supply of old used skates that he makes available to people in the neighborhood to enjoy.  No under ice LED lighting, but he does set up perimeter lights at the corners for play at night.

He's being meta. But it's Reg Lllama Tanner, so there's that.

Looks like the blue-line light strings were just a few feet too long. I think they made those loops to make the blue-line light strings fit the width of the rink.

Seems pretty socialist to me.

Don't you have one in your basement?  That was awesome. If I was your kid, well...adoration. In hopes of, anyway.
Yes, but it is not ice. Synthetic ice. We have really gotten our money's worth this year bc we have an ex echl player coming over once a week and giving my son private lessons. He loves it.

This used to be my NJ winters

That is a great rink!  We use to live on a pond in the Twin Cities. I would shovel the snow off, hook up a hose to the downstairs laundry tub and flood the ice. We had a neighbor that worked for the local power company and he installed flood lights. Another neighbor was a sales mgr for local CAT dealer and he turned a lawn tractor with a snowblower and would clear the snow after heavy snowfalls. Had a nice 30 foot hill that kids could sled down onto the pond.
