BAL DST (1 Viewer)

OU#1

Is it time to worry about the Baltimore DST? They just lost Pryce to an injury for ~3 weeks. They barely contained the low life NY Jets. Their offense is putrid and is turning the ball over causing short fields for the opposition.

They were the #2 overall DST last year but McNair was at least capable of running a ball control offense.

I'm considering offloading them while I can before they implode and lose what little value they have left.

Am I being hasty or is the writing on the wall?

Mcnair will straighten himself out. We will know the truth after this week. I have thought about this myself. As long as they still get turn overs and put some pressure on they will be a good def just not great.

What could you get for them?

Their pass D has always been over-rated....both Chris M and Rolle can be beaten and are beaten by good WRs consistently. See Palmer lighting them up 2 years back as an example.

From time to time they get burned. And sometimes by the oddest of fellows, Charlie Frye last year, for example. But there is no imminent implosion; they will still finish the year top 3-5. It's a defense predicated on gambling for the big play, which translates into fantasy scoring.

I need to upgrade my WR corps. I'm getting squat out of them thus far while the rest of the league has at least one stud WR that has gone off. I was targeting Plaxico but the owner said she "didn't want Baltimore....maybe Minnesota"? I laughed pretty hard that she would rather have MIN over BAL but so far this season I can't really blame her. MIN has been solid so far. I'll be starting them for sure this week over BAL.Anyways not to detract from the OP. Don't want to turn this into a ACF thread.

The BAL DST has always been a solid play assuming their offense doesn't screw them over. I thought they would be even better with the addition of Yamon Figurs but he hasn't done much thus far. Ed Reed saved them in Week 1 with the DTD and they were on the verge of having a below average game in Week 2 if that Jets scrub could of hung on to the ball. I'm a bit worried they are going from elite status to average at best.

I really Bal D/ST to bounce back against a stuggling SF offense without their starting QB. They seem to have become a matchups defense, especially with Rolle and Pryce out, but they will have plenty of solid defensive days left this year.

Any one have word on how much longer Rolle and Pryce should be sitting for though?

they have good match ups for the next 3 weeks. if they can't produce after that i don't see them worth keeping.

Ed Reed is such a return threat on Punts, Int's and Fumble that he makes them a good fantasy d/st maybe not #1 but still very good.
