Bartolo Colon has enjoyed a rather amazing resurgence this year and he's openly credited stem cell therapy he received in the Dominican, I believe. I won't say "why" is MLB investigating, something with results seemingly this profound I suppose should be looked at to see if its on the up and up. But there seems to be some traction based on a few different columnists I read to somehow ban this form of therapy. But I ask you guys, why? And moreover, what do you think of this treatment? Is it crossing a line?
My perception would be, taking a part of your body to regenerate, save and/or protect a career is really no different than TJ or any other ligament replacement therapy. Hell, I believe they even result to using cadavers at times. Cortizone, I believe is just a glorified roid.
I have been pretty against PEDs around here, but my biggest problem is the wrongness implied that its done in the dark. If this is an upfront procedure, I don't really see the problem. Hell, its intriguing as hell.
