Be Wary Of The Warehouse? My Personal Experience: Amazon Warehouse Lists Products With Suspect Grades, Damage Evaluation (1 Viewer)

Anybody notice this? I'm an Amazon purchaser, especially their warehouse deals where you can get serious quid off of a record or something. But lately, I've become really disillusioned. They keep sending out stuff that's really damaged and isn't reflected in the description.

For instance: I bought the Roots's Things Fall Apart Sepcial Edition for $34.95 instead of a 69 dollar (you can titter) list price. It looked great when it came. Turns out the outer sleeve was sticky a bit. I figured, cool, I'll just rub this off. Turns out they had either spray painted or colored in the scuffs on the outer sleeve of the record and were passing it off as like new. It goes to the front of the record, too. It's really disconcerting, not only in looks but also in deception. This is a lousy practice.

I immediately called and got half off, but I didn't feel like negotiating or I would have gotten more, likely. But is this a problem for anybody who orders from their warehouse deals or what? Sorry if Honda. (Work out tape like Fonda.)

Way back when I used to buy cds thru Amazon that my record shop never had.  Always happy with the results, but that was then and this is now.

Never had an issue with Warehouse deals...in fact, quite the opposite.  My guess is the returner of the product probably tried to mask the damage and the Amazon employee checking it in didn't do a good job catching it.  No way Amazon sprayed gunk to hide scuffs in order to sell a $34.95 item.

I called them again. I was happy with the discount but wanted to let them know. This seems to be the exact thing that happened. But I've also had records come with stickers on the jacket, damaged jackets, jackets with other stuff, warped records.

Needs to be better quality control.

Glad to hear your experience is better. Title edited to reflect.
