Ben Watson - Week 16 (1 Viewer)

I think this guy could have a nice week again. Balt will give up short gainers to avoid the long ball.

just sayin, but for gates owners he could be huge.

Watson was supposed to torch the Bills 2 weeks ago, so I picked him up. You know, the Bills who are the worst team vs Tight Ends in the league? He had 1 catch for 8 yards.

That was 2 weeks ago, I don't think the term "studly" can apply here.

^^^^^^. What he said. I won't go there again.

Maybe we could re-state the subject line to read:

If you're absolutely desperate at TE, and there's nothing better on the waiver wire, you may want to insert Ben Watson into your lineup to avoid taking a zero.

He's averaging 100 yards and 9 catches the last two weeks with 1 score. Tell me who else has done that.

You really need to check his last two weeks.

haha, my bad. i was looking at yahoo game logs and for some weird reason they have week 14 where week 1 should be. :ptts: Well he's been very nice in weeks 13 and 15 :blackdot:

I'd say it's a 50/50 gamble but since I have no Gates and no pickups... Ben Watson it is! He's put up good games with McCoy in weeks 6, 10 & 15 but had a bad outing with him in weeks 7, 9 & 11. It's probably not a good sign that he put up a good game last weekend but at this point I have no other options.

2 of his last 3 weeks have been very nice. I think McCoy helps him.

Studly? Not even close. I think this is :fishing:
he has had 3 stinkers on the year. that's better than you can say for most tightends.im not fishing, im just missing gates.
He's had one game of 2 points, two games of 1 point, and two games of 0 points. By my count, that's 5 stinkers. Then he's had 4 games of 4-6 points, which I consider average, and one game of 7 points. He's had 4 games of over 7, which I would consider big games. So 4 "studly" games, 5 mediocre games, and 5 stinkers. Maybe by this year's standards that IS studly. He's a decent option this week.

Yeah, true. I play PPR so its been a little better for that. I don;t expect you'll be playing him if you have someone like gonzo or even a mercedes type.

PPR definitely changes things. And I might play him over those guys, especially gonzo. I'd probably go with Marcedes over him, though. I put him around Hernandez and Graham; high ceiling-low floor boom/bust type players. Watson probably has a higher floor and lower ceiling than those two. Also, the Baltimore matchup is difficult to decipher. They are one of the better teams against the TE if you go by season stats, but Graham had two tds last week and I think a TE did well against them the week before, IIRC.

Dodds seems to be really drinking his Kool-Aide this week, has him ranked #2. I guess Baltimore stresses deep play protection? Interesting

Early projections have him #1 for the week. I am debating as I have Graham, Hernandez and Moeaki, but considering Watson for the Championship game. Watson seems to do well in games where they fall behind (more passes?) and this Baltimore game would definitely fall under that category. If I had to pick right now, I would pick Graham because he has a much higher chance at a TD in my opinion and his floor isn't a doughnut like Watson could post on Sunday...

I believe the week Watson stunk it up against the Bills was the week Delhomme played, no? Anyway, it would seem Watson performs better when McCoy is under center. That said, Football Outsiders says Baltimore is ranked 3rd against TE.

I'm debating between Kevin Boss and Watson this week, but I'm leaning toward Boss. Green Bay is 24th against TE according to Football Outsiders.

I'm thinking of playing Him over LT in my flex... TEs get a nice bonus for 5 Recs and the Raven have been giving up a ton of pts to TEs as of late

As a Gates owner, I'm rolling with Watson this week. He had a good game against Baltimore earlier in the year and has been very solid as of late. The week 14 debacle was with Delhomme behind center in horrible weather. He's caught 18 of 19 passes in the last 3 weeks, which includes the 1 catch on 1 target in week 14. Barring the weather, I feel more comfortable starting Watson over Celek, Gronkowski, etc.

:suds:I am debating him and VD (who also has his preferred qb back)

Le's put it this way who would you start over him this week.

Witten

Gonzo

Tamme

Lewis

Winslow

Davis

Anyone else?

I just do not see how this guy is ranked #1 at Baltimore this week.

I have Gates and Gonzo and just picked up Cooley on the wire. Watson is available as well, but I see Cooley with higher upside than Watson or Gonzo right now (Was @ JAC), especially with Rex under center.
