Ben Watson (1 Viewer)

Captain Spaulding

Almost everything I forecasted at the beginning of the season for this guy came true EXCEPT for what matters most in my fantasy scoring...TDs (hardest pridictable factor). With departure of Branch and Fauria, Watson is 2nd on the team in eceptions and is 1st receiving yds. Although tied for lead with 4 others he only has 3 measly TDs though and in my fantasy leagues rankings isn't even a top 10 TE. Historically, the Pats/Brady loved to throw to TE's inside the 5-10 yard line....not this year I suppose. So from a dynasty perspective, would you still count on Watson as a guy that can be a solid future TE in a dynasty league or try to upgrade (sorry this kinda blends into Assistant coach territory)? I've got a very strong and deep RB corp. that I've been trying to deal 1-2 RBs (to no avail) but am very weak at QB, WR and DB's (IDP league).

I'd love to get my paws on Vernon Davis.

Pains me to say it, but David Thomas is already looking to be a more reliable receiver than Watson. Just something about the way he looks when he's catching - looks a lot more natural. Sometimes Watson looks like he's trying to catch the ball with a couple of frying pans. Thomas is also an excellent blocker - he had a key hit that opened up Maroney's 25+ yard TD run last week and some Dillon runs as well.

Watson is a freak athlete, and a valuable weapon, but I don't think he'll ever be a dependable fantasy option.

As a Pats fan, I think he's been disappointing all year except for a game here or there. There's no consistency, no week to week production that should come with his experience. He still produces like a rookie.

From what I can tell(or guess)they counted on him moreso than anyone probably since Coates. Seems to me he's been a major disappointment.

That's fine in a way. I mean next year, the Pats figure he's only good in spots and plan accordingly. Right now though, it stings a little.

BTW GB Brady being able to throw to anyone and make anyone look good at WR. Say what ya want about other QBs but if they get these second and third rate WRs in there for their team, they(in general) are not productive.
