Putting aside the ethics and looking at strategy for a moment. Clearly the objective is to win within the rules of the league. There are some other considerations to potentially consider within this strategy:1. Waiver wire impact. If your league's waiver is order of lowest points scored you might improve your waiver for the week. 2. Penalties. If your league penalizes for not having a healthy starter you might face penalties for the game and for YTD points which could not only cost you the game but also lose a tie breaker along the way.3. Payouts for high points could be effected. The last point some might consider is how you are perceived by others in your league. May or may not be a problem. E.g., the rules may not clearly state you must have all starters filled but the spirit of the rules may have intended for it to be that way. Perhaps a clarification from the commish would be a good idea.

If your league rules allow you to do this, I assume that y'all contemplated this scenario and decided it was OK. I don't see a problem.Edited to add - I remember the days when I thought the way I saw things regarding FF rules was the only way. GB the wisdom gained through experience.

I remember a thread from days gone by where someone had used this strategy only to find out the Live Scoring that had him ahead by 1 pt (or whatever the number was) was incorrect - he was actually BEHIND by 1 pt. Unfortunately he didn't find out about that little problem until Tuesday morning. :rotflmao: He was trying to drum up support for his argument that since Live Scoring was wrong, and he had relied on it, he ought to be able to re-activate the player he had benched. What a maroon.I have no problem with the strategy as long as it's legal under your leagues rules. Just be careful!
 I'm facing this tonight, up 3 with McNabb to play, and my opponent done. First, i started worrying about McNabb throwing 2 picks (-4 pts in my league) on his first 2 plays, and getting knocked out of the game.So i benched McNabb, and inserted Droughns into my flex position. Then, i started worrying about a website scoring error. Figuring the error was a more likely scenario than the McNabb scenario, i switched them back tonight. P.S. By "more likely", i mean in the sense that Janet Reno is more likely than Roseanne Barr to win next year's Babe Bracket.

Funny, I'm up by 3 with McNabb going and contemplated the same exact thing. After reading this thread, I too am seeing a small risk of McNabb having a negative night vs. the reward of a big night. Plus, I'd love to hammer my opponent, who's the #1 team and beat me like a rented mule last time! Pour it on Donovan!

If you are SURE you have won, it's a no brainer IMO, especially if you can easily get negative points from a QB. You never know...
