Bengals Thursday practice injury update, WR Houshmandzadeh still out

Cornerback Deltha O'Neal, probable with a knee injury, participated in practice this afternoon.

But three other players -- left tackle Levi Jones (sprained ankle), defensive tackle Sam Adams (knee) and wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (heel) -- were not on the field for the start of practice. All are expected to play Sunday.

The opinion here is Houshmandzadeh really isn't needed this week. It's more important he play against the Steelers the following Sunday at Pittsburgh.

He really isn't needed? My #2 WR? Lately it's been, Houz not in my lineup. Is it an Achilles heel? This could be bad.

:wall:

listened to CJ on sirius and when asked said that TJ would play this week. he then backtracked and said he's not supposed to talk about injuries, he didn't know how TJ's injury was and didn't know if he will play. it sounded as if he slipped up first when he made his comments and then remembered, "oh, yeah, i'm not supposed to say that." DOH!

Def. can't risk the Housh this week. Henry is on my wire, but I ain't biting. Colston is currently my bubble WR, and I'm not cutting him just yet.

In fact, might start him in Housh's sted.

Man, I love FF. No matter how much prep you end up doing, and how great you think your draft was, you always manage to start someone like Marques Colston in Week 2. :)
