I suspect Moe Williams
Moe did not pass the teams physical.
Rams | Team signs M. WilliamsWed, 2 Aug 2006 10:45:16 -0700ESPNews reports the St. Louis Rams signed free agent RB Moe Williams (Vikings) Wednesday, Aug. 2. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Guess they found a doctor to help him pass the physical. Was there just no one available? Why not go pluck Travis Minor from the Dolphins? How bout Suggs from the Browns?
I guessed Moe from Linehan's Viking days ...... I assume Moe will be a utility RB because of lack of faith in Fisher being the full time RB if/when SJax misses time

update on Bennett coming to KC.

Heard Peterson with a taped comment on sports talk just now on the way home. Says Priest still has NOT been cleared for any contact practice. He's not at camp. I don't think Carl would have done the deal if he felt good that Priest would be back, anytime soon anyway, but he said "the door is being held open for his return.

About Roaf, Peterson said he told Willies agent that he wanted to "do it up right" about Willies retirement by having a ceremony during a game this season. Roafs agent said Willie wasn't "ready for that". Again, the door is being held open for his return. Said Roaf was adament about playing this year after OTAs and he wanted to make sure Shields came back for another year too.

In a radio interview a few days ago with Roaf I heard him suggest that Vermeils long, hard practices may well have taken a year or two off his career. For what that's worth.

I think Roaf will be back a week or so before the season starts and Priest will NOT be back.

With the signing of ALL the rookies, Ty Law and the trade for Bennett makes me wonder where the cap room is coming from. Maybe an injury settlement with Priest already in place? Don't know how the PUP list for Priest and Roafs "retirement intentions" affect the cap. But this way Roaf isn't fined $14K/day for missing camp.

Sorry, no links for what I heard on local radio from Peterson or Roaf. Take it for what it's worth.

About Bennett, Herm has said he wants to run more than in past years so I would expect Bennett to get 8-10 touches a game. And behind the KC line that is somewhat exciting as a KC fan and Bennett owner.

If you want to handcuff LJ this season it is going to cost a much earlier draft pick now.
It's not going to cost a 5th rounder like the Priest/LJ debacle last year. I don't think it'll even cost a 7th rounder.
I wouldn't be suprized if Michael Bennett starts going in the 7th and 8th round of drafts. People get really excited about back-ups on good running teams. Especially a bigger name like Bennett.

Why is everyone getting so excited? Although the OL helps a lot, good running teams are good mostly because of their RBs. If he could not keep the STARTING job in Minnesota, why does everyone expect him to be good in KC, even if he for some reason DOES become a start there? Whats changed?

Rams | M. Williams passes physicalWed, 2 Aug 2006 14:29:22 -0700

Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams RB Moe Williams (knee) had two physicals with the team. The first one wasn't clear, so they brought him in for a second one and he was able to pass that physical. He is recovering from micro-fracture surgery on his right knee, which was performed in November last year. Head coach Scott Linehan said Williams feels good and they feel he will be a "great addition" to the Rams. Williams will compete with RB Tony Fisher for the No. 2 running back position. Williams also brings the ability to play on special teams, according to Linehan.

Just about to post the same thing. <---- Michael Bennett OwnersOut of the frying pan and into the fire. Not exactly the trade Bennett owners were looking for.
You kidding?I say besides Denver, this could be one of the best teams for Bennett to go to. Someone else is going to be carrying the rock in KC, and Bennett is now an early favorite for that role. Imagine if LJ went down with an injury.
That sounds like the tune Maurice Morris owners have been carrying for the last couple of years. "Imagine if Alexander went down...." How's that working out?
I'd say there's a stronger possibility of Larry Johnson getting suspended for some type of off the field incident, than him getting injured.Alexander is gonna get hurt this year, so you should pick up Morris. The cover boy of Madden, who's on a Super Bowl losing team. The chips are stacked might high against him.

Anyone know LJ's college injury history? I thought I heard that he got knicked up quite a bit in college.
