Bernard Pollard (1 Viewer)

didn't watch the ravens/texans game a single bit to know how he acquitted himself well. haven't heard or read yet if Zbikowski practice monday or tuesday to even challenge Pollard this week. Daniels was quiet, be interesting to see how much help Pollard had keeping Owen in check. if he can simply not be a disaster 1on1 in coverage i'd think or hope he remains the guy b/c he brings alot of other things to the table that Zbikowski can't.

anyone watch and pay attention to Pollard in coverage?

Yeah I did. I was hurting this past week on DBs and picked Pollard up in both leagues and ran with him. Solid performance with the 2 PDs and five solos. His 2nd PD was almost a FF, but the WR didn't possess it long enough before the hit. He's obviously not a great cover guy, but he was close enough to the defenders to get two PDs. The Texans didn't target Daniels a lot, and they lined him up in a lot of different places, so it's hard to say how often Pollard was on him and how the overall coverage was.

Didn't look like it on the television broadcast -- in fact he was never once on the screen during the play -- but Pollard was in large part responsible for the long touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones last week. The All-22 angle showed on a later NFLN broadcast seemed to show Pollard abandoning his two deep responsibility to jump an Owen Daniels crossing route and follow it across the opposite hash while Ed Reed was left to chase Jones down.

I haven't seen any practice information or coaching comments yet to know what Pollard's status will be this week, but its plays like that which cause the frequent "WTF" disconnect between a guy who puts up great fantasy numbers but finds himself jumping from team to team in search of playing time.

Interesting. Yeah I never saw him on the TD pass to Jones. And the announcers played up the angle of the great Ed Reed getting beat in coverage.

for coaches and fantasy players there can't be a more maddening player than Bernard Pollard. b/c like a few times a year like 2nite he seems to be the best defender(if not just best player) on the field.

Is he taking over the starting spot?

Also that 15 yard, personal foul was BS. That was a great tackle.
