Best (and worst) Holds (1 Viewer)

Shutout

The first couple of weeks always get a lot of knee jerk reactions so I thought it would be nice to get consensus on what the pulse is on some of the more talked about anticipated emerging players this year is as of now. What do you guys think? Is the SHARK move for owners to continue to hold or move them on?

In no particular order:

-Mario Manningham

-Felix Jones

-Sam Bradford

-Shonn Greene

-DeSean Jackson

-Jermichael Finley

-Santonio Holmes (not really emerging, but seemed to be tons of talk about him)

-Kenny Britt

drop/ worst holds:Shonn Greene

F. Jones

Manningham

Jets can't run worth a hill of beans for the fantasy football world, won't be able to all year..might be effective in the real game, but not productive enough to keep Greene around hogging up a roster spot.

Manningham has stone hands..now some of that is because Eli throws lame ducks, but if it hits you in the hands, you have to catch it...

Keepers are Finley , Britt, Bradford

D. Jackson is anyone's guess..

Britt should not be on this list
Why not? He has never put a full year together and he generates a lot of off season buzz. Are you saying its a lock he's here to stay?
He was solid last year when healthy. He's healthy this year. I'm borderline starting him weekly over Roddy White and Nicks. So I'm high on him.
I agree with FN, he's been great with some decent QB play. He can put up enough points on some weeks to cover 2 roster spots.

Good post. I pretty much agree with all of it. Though I like DJax a lot and would hold on to him. Also, with Manningham and Felix, it depends what you can get for them. I think obviously their value is down since the draft, but I wouldn't sell too low on either. If you can get a top 15-20 WR or RB for them, make the move, but don't go much lower than that. The Giants are still going to give up points to teams with good WRs, their running game is mediocre and outside of Nicks there just aren't any other options. While he hasn't looked very good, all the factors that made him attractive in the first place are still there and he has always been a streaky player when it comes to catching the ball. With Felix, he's banged up again and the Dallas line doesn't look great run blocking. But the Jets and Niners both have good fronts. I suspect he's going to put some nice games together later in the year against weaker defenses.

Manningham is fine - he had a subpar week one (like most of the NY offense) . . .

he was having a decent day last night until he got knocked out . . .

FF wise sure. But it will only be so long until those hands cost him his job.

they have been like that ever since he was a rookie . . . still, he's a productive #2 for the Giants and he is a legit WR3 in fantasy . . .

In no particular order:

-Mario Manningham... Seems to lack focus + Eli's "happy feet" are an issue... all adds up to inconsistency to me (and I was chugging the Kool-Aid on draft day). Maybe they'll work it out as the season wears on.

-Felix Jones... He's a Jerry Jones project... not really excited about him.

-Sam Bradford... Awesome between the 20's, but this team has serious red zone issues. He may not top 20 TD passes.

-Shonn Greene... looks sluggish to me. He's been a slow starter before though. Unfortunately he seems to hit his stride during "NFL" play-off time.

-DeSean Jackson... explosive... but can get shutdown by decent corners.

-Jermichael Finley... if healthy, I think he'll be a monster over the long haul. He looked unstoppable last year before the injury.

-Santonio Holmes (not really emerging, but seemed to be tons of talk about him)... low ceiling/high floor (is that the catch phrase for 2011?)

-Kenny Britt... heading to the top-5 WR list in a hurry (if Hasselbeck can stay healthy).

I own both Felix and Manningham. I would like to sell on both of them, but I don't feel like the value you can get is worth the potential value on your team. The time to sell is after a big game, not after two stinkers.

The biggest regret I have in recent years was refusing to trade Jahvid Best after he put up over 40 points in week two last season. The offers were huge for him, but I held.
